Episode 9

Author's POV

It all happened three years ago when the royal family of the Lightning Realm visited the Weather Realm to renew the "Kingdoms' Treaty". It was an important document that ensured that all kingdoms in favour signed and agreed to maintain peace and order in the universe. Failure to obey the conditions resulted in deadly consequences decided by the Royal Council, which consisted of officials from the different realms.

Zachary, the prince of the Lightning Realm, was 16 at the time and caused as much trouble as he did now, if not more. The infamous troublemaker loved annoying others with his creative pranks and tricks. From breaking into high-security facilities to sabotaging important meetings, you name it. His parents were strict, to say the least, so many simply concluded this was a rebellion against the upbringing he had.

Warm rays of sunshine and the smell of morning dew greeted the Jacksons as they passed the gates into the Weather Realm. Just a few metres away stood King Victor and Queen Hannah of Weather, who came to personally welcome their ally. "King Zayn, Queen Melinda, welcome to our home! Let's get you and your family settled in first shall we?" King Victor gestured, walking them into the palace.

The King and Queen of Weather had three children. The eldest was the twins, Melody and Harmony, who were busy attending a classmate's birthday party, while the youngest, Claudia, was occupied with magic practice.

The Jacksons had just settled into their rooms and Zachary already felt bored. He decided to give himself his own tour of the castle, wandering around the huge halls, curiously poking at things he should not touch.

Just then, he came across a metal door with a big red sign that wrote: "Do Not Enter. Training In Progress". He smirked and reached for the handle, completely ignoring the sign. He opened it and found himself standing on a metal bridge that stretched all around the room. He grabbed the railing in front of him and looked down, amazed to see what seemed like a full-on training course the size of a stadium built from top to bottom! There was a sparring ring in one corner, a built-in high element course that stretched across the room, and various sports equipment and protection gear lined at the sides.

"Damn they could even fit in a swimming pool if they wanted to and still have space" Zach scoffed as he continued to take in the sight. What caught his eye the most though, was the shooting range at the far end of the room, where a girl and her coach stood.

"Come on Claudia it's just a little spark, summon it and you're done!" The coach encouraged the girl. As Zachary walked along with the platform towards the range, all he heard was disgruntled whining. "UGH! I can't do this, maybe it's just not my thing you know. It's too much work... can I go back now..." He finally reached a few metres away from the range when the girl slammed her equipment on the floor and turned around. She was dishevelled, completely drenched in sweat and radiating frustration when she looked up and met his eyes. "Dang, someone is cranky. Good morning to you too Miss Sunshine! "
