Claudia and her trainer froze, dumbfounded at the random stranger standing before them, acting as if he owned the place.
"Excuse me? Do I even know you?" Claudia retorted.
"Prince Zachary of the Lightning Realm. A pleasure to meet your acquaintance m'lady," he bowed, reaching out his hand to hers.
Immediately, Claudia jerked away. "That's 'Your Highness' to you. I'm-"
"Claudia right? The princess?"
For a moment, their eyes met, but for Claudia, it was more of a glare mixed with annoyance and frustration.
The trainer, after realising who he was, gave a quick bow before hastily dismissing herself from the two. She could already tell what was coming, and she did not want to be a part of it.
"What are you doing here? This is a restricted are-"
"Practising magic, are you? I have to say that was a pretty weak throw"
"Oh shut up. How's this any of your business anyway?"
"Well you, your highness, happen to be standing right before the very Prince of Lightning and this happens to be in my line of expertise. A small spark isn't that difficult now, is it?" Small pulses of magic started to form at his fingertips as he looked at her smugly.
Claudia was not pleased at all, she didn't like know-it-alls and the Prince of Lightning was no exception. First of all, he interrupted her training and now, he has the audacity to be all arrogant?! The longer she looked at him, the angrier she got and a storm started to form over their heads, slowly engulfing the room in darkness.
Ploop! Zach looked up as a drop of water fell onto his nose. Before he could even react, the storm broke out into a huge downpour, drenching him from head to toe. Squinting his eyes, he turned to Claudia, "Seriously?" Claudia glared harder at him, "Well that's what you get for being so obnoxious"
She stormed out of the training room with Zach hot on her heels. "Yooo chill Raindrop, no need to get all worked up. Okay fine, I'm here because my parents dragged me here for some 'sign a form for peace' thing between our realms. But it got so bo-oring that I decided to take myself on a little tour when I saw the 'Do not enter' sign. Me, being the curious boy I am, walked in and blah blah blah here we are! Besides, it was pretty worth it if you'd ask me. Watching you struggling to muster a single spark was very entertaining to watch." He chuckled. "Does that answer your question, Raindrop?"
"Don't call me that and stop following me." Claudia grumbled as she reached for the pendant she usually wore around her neck. Upon realising it wasn't there, she immediately rushed back into the flooded room to search for it.
" Where is it???" She mumbled, treading through the ankle-deep waters.
"Where is what?"
" My pendant, I was just wearing it a second ago..."
Suddenly, a glowing object in the water caught his eye, as he bent down to take a look, he caught a glimpse of a glowing gem hanging on a thin gold chain. He reached out to grab it, only to end up accidentally activating his powers in the process. Lightning met water, sparks ignited, and a loud crackling sound echoed through the room. Claudia spun around and her heart immediately dropped. The once shiny piece of jewellery was now in pieces, covered in black soot. She lunged towards him to grab her pendant and slid down onto her knees, tears silently dripping down her face as she held the pendant close to her chest.
