27 | Regret

Reuben's POV

"Amelia , I'll reach school a bit later because I have to pick up Adam from the hospital"

"Okay"

I drove to the hospital and located his ward. 102 ...

"Hey Adam , how are you feeling ?" I asked.

"Better" I checked out from the ward and grabbed Adam's bag and drove to school.

"You get going to your class first , I'll find Amelia"

"Have fun finding your Iris" he jokily said.

Walking down the hallway , a cowered Amelia and a tall slender Iris were seen near the lockers.

I didn't have the time to even process the unfolding scene.

"Amelia !! Are you okay ? Are you hurt" I rushed to her side, looking at Amelia everywhere making sure she doesn't have a single bruise on her but I noticed a small bruise forming on her arms.

"What did you do to her ?" My overprotectiveness self came and I did something based on my instincts.

I brought my left hand to her right cheeks without thinking and slapped her , hardly.

She fumbled back and stared coldly face to face and spit out those words.

"What I did ? Look carefully , I . HELPED . HER ." My eyes drifted to the unconscious body laying on the floor.

"Wh...what happened ?"

"Well go help your girlfriend up , she's already at the gate of the underworld"

I took a step forward to him. "By the way I didn't do anything to Amelia , your sister. So don't judge first before you know what actually happened." She bitterly said.

Guilt and remorse filled me up as I think what I did to her.

I slapped her.
I slapped her.

Those words and my actions pondered in my mind. I can't believe I did that to her , the girl who I liked.

I accused her without even thinking.
I ruined everything.

My sister , how did she know she was my sister ?

I stared at the floor feeling all sorts of guilty emotion running in my veins.

"It's great helping you , but next time I wouldn't want to lend a helping hand to someone who repays the favor by doing that"

She pointed to her red cheek and turned to me before walking away from us with her bag. I was going to apologize for the action I did but she walked away before I could have the chance.

I know I fucked it up , real bad.

Amelia turned to me "It wasn't her , it was Brittany. She helped me. I didn't even have the time to thank her before you slapped her. Not to mention her cheek is red. You're going have to do something and more if you feel guilty for doing that" before walking away.

I now stood alone in the hallway with a bloodied body on the floor , I wasn't even thinking about that body but what I should do to apologize to her.

Iris's POV

I bought myself a granola bar , mac and cheese and a salad for Noah because he supposedly want to live in a healthier lifestyle even though yesterday he just had a whole fried chicken , fries and chocolate ice cream.

"Here's your salad" giving a bowl of caesar salad with extra croutons to him.

"Thanks ris" As I was about to dig in to my piping hot delicious mac and cheese , someone spoke behind me.

"My brother wants to say sorry for what he did and I want to thank you for standing up for me" Amelia gave a slight bow.

"It's okay but your brother really doesn't have balls to apologize as a gang leader , pathetic"

I honestly don't care if they know that I know that he is the gang leader.

I was going to go back to my mac and cheese when someone gripped onto my chin.

OMG no one interrupts me when I'm about to dig in to my mac and cheese.

My eyes is met with Alexanders' eyes shouting code red.

"Who did this to you" caressing my right cheek , absolutely ignoring Amelia by the side

"No one"
"You better tell me" he was getting angrier by seconds.

"And what if I don't ?" I challenged.

This time he grabbed me and pulled me to their table.

Gosh when will I ever get a one peaceful break. Like I'm only asking for one , is that so hard to ask for ?

Amelia and Noah followed and there sat 3 faces that I recognized and two other faces which I don't know.

"Iris you better tell us how you get that cheek red" Alexander voiced boomed.

"It... it was... my brother , he did that"

"He did what ?" Jacob spoke.

"He... sla...slapped her" she looked down. "Who's your brother ?"

"Re...uben"

"I'm going to get my hands on him" says a furious Alexander.

"All of you fucking sit down NOW" I slammed my hands on the table , paying absolutely no attention to all the students turning to me.

"You all don't get any say in this , this is none of your business. If y'all want to butt in to my business , you can kiss goodbye to your status as my brother except Noah and maybe Louis" I saw Louiss' eyes lit up.

I know that sounded really mean but it's just a slap , I'm used to it but that looked like I'm defending Reuben but I can guarantee you that I do not like him ,

yet.

"If your brother has the balls to apologize verbally , tell him to text me up and find a secluded place to apologize." taking a napkin and writing my number down , handing it to Amelia.

I turned to Noah "let's go out of school"

"Really ?!?! It's been ages since we did that together"

"Uh-uh NO , if you want to extend your time being grounded stay in school" Alexander said.

"Like what I said before , I . DONT . FUCKING . CARE" interlocking my arm with Noah and skipping out of the cafeteria , leaving them in disbelief.

*the next part will focus more on the relationship with Ella and Iris
