Are you gonna stay the night?

Doesn't mean we're bound for life

So oh oh oh, are you gonna stay the night?

Stay the Night: By Zedd. Ft. Hayley Williams

After dinner, it was about eight. We sat in the limo, just talking. Nothing really special. Except we stopped by Dairy Queen and got some blizzards. I got a mint one, while Norman got cherry and chocolate. He offered me a bite, and I accepted it. His was actually very sweet and tasty. He had a bit of mine, agreeing that mine was the best. We drove around, enjoying the nighttime views of Chicago in each other's company. Eventually, our blizzards ended, and I checked the time. It was 10:46.

"Wow, Norman. It's late." I said, feeling a wave of exhaustion flood over me.

"You wanna go home?" He asked. I nodded, feeling my eyes starting to droop. I felt Norman wrap his arm around my waist, letting me lean on his shoulder. I didn't feel super comfy with him doing this, but I didn't push him away either.

After a few minutes, Norman nudged me awake.

"Wha..." I groaned, rubbing my eyes.

"We're here." He said. I stepped out and looked around, confused. This isn't the Blue Chester Hotel.

"Where are we?" I asked, confused.

"We're at my hotel." He explained. "Was wondering if you'd like to spend the night."

Oh no. I've read enough books and seen enough movies to know that spending the night usually ends in sex. I smiled, trying not to show that I was scared.

"If you don't want to, you don't have to. I just thought it'd be easier, since yours is about half an hour away." He explained.

"Thanks. But I'd like to go back." I stated. I wasn't going to have sex with him on the first date!

"Ok. Let's go." He said, opening the limo door for me. Before I got in, though, the driver stepped out and walked towards Norman, holding his hand out.

"Your time is up. I'll accept my payment now." He demanded.

"Uh, can we just go for half an hour more?" Norman asked.

"No. My boss needs me back now. Pay now." The driver snapped. Norman glanced at me. I felt panic rising inside of me. I can't spend the night! He reluctantly took out a check book and pen. He scribbled on it and tore it out, handing the check to the driver. The driver nodded and accepted the check, getting back into the limo and driving away. I turned to Norman.

"Thanks for the lovely evening Norman, but I need to get to my hotel room." I stated, looking around.

"You can still stay with me if you want." Norman offered.

I shook my head. "I can walk." I said.

"It'll be half an hour by car. Plus, there are crazy people out there." Norman pointed out. I had to admit, he was right. After a few moments, I reluctantly nodded. He took my hand and led me through the huge doors, into a five-star lobby. White marble floor spread out underneath me, with black trimming around the edges. Norman led me to an elevator, pushing the appropriate floor level. We were the only ones in the elevator. Norman turned to face me.

"I'm so sorry. I probably shoulda just taken you straight home." He apologized, shoving his hands into his pockets.

"It's ok. I mean, if he had just stopped in the middle of nowhere, then we'd be screwed." I joked, causing a little laugh to come out of Norman.

"True. But still, I should've just taken you home." He muttered, looking down. I swore that I saw a little bit of blush. I felt kinda bad for him, so I may have done something a little risky. I scooted closer to him, taking one of his hands in mine. I rested my head against his shoulder. I felt him move his head to face me. Suddenly the elevator stopped, opening up to a long hallway. The hallway had a long, gold colored rug with little patterns outlined in brown.

"This is our stop." He said, leading me out. We walked to the end of the hall, where he fumbled with the keys. He finally got the correct one and opened the door. We entered a huge room with cream colored walls and white carpet. There was a set of doors. A huge TV sat across from a dark red leather couch. There was a black cat sitting on the couch. I remembered what Mariah had said, that his name was Eye in the Dark. Eye hissed at us, (probably more at me) and jumped off of the couch, racing towards a cat jungle.

"Ignore Eye." Norman said. He took off his coat and hung it up on a coat hanger. He held his hand out for mine. I took it off and handed it to him. Then he led me over to the couch, sitting down. He patted the spot next to him. Hesitantly, I sat down. He grabbed a remote control from a coffee table that sat in front of us. He flipped on the TV, to some music video channel. One Direction was playing, singing "Night Changes."

"We're only getting older baby
And I've been thinking about it lately
Does it ever drive you crazy
Just how fast the night changes?
Everything that you've ever dreamed of
Disappearing when you wake up
But there's nothing to be afraid of
Even when the night changes
It will never change me and you."

I started singing along, unknowingly. I loved the song, how sweet it was. When the song finished, I sighed. Suddenly, Norman started clapping. I jumped, surprised. I felt my cheeks burning, realizing that I had been singing out loud.

"Sorry, I didn't know that I was singing." I apologized, blushing.

"Why? You're a beautiful singer." Norman stated, scooting closer. I bit the side of my bottom lip, looking away. Norman suddenly grabbed my chin, turning me to face him. I felt my heartbeat quicken as I gazed into the deep blue depths of his eyes. I felt myself being drawn closer, our mouths parted. Norman started to lean in, and I closed my eyes, going forward. Our lips collided, and I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time. Norman's hand moved from my chin to my cheek, caressing it. I kept my hands in my lap. I didn't want to put them anywhere that would indicate sex. Our lips fit together, like pieces of a puzzle. I pulled away, not wanting things to get too heated. Norman cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Uh, sorry. I don't know what came over me." He apologized.

"It's ok." I said. Then I smiled. "If it helps, I think that the cherry was right."

Norman laughed at this. I couldn't help but join him. "I've got more, if you'd like." Norman offered.

"No, no. I'm pretty confident in my kissing skills." I stated.

"Eh..." Norman shrugged. I gasped and gently hit him with the back of my hand. "I'm kidding!" He exclaimed, chuckling a bit. I smiled, but the smile turned into a yawn. I checked my watch. 12:01 am. Norman noticed. "Hey, follow me." He said, taking my hand. I let him guide me to one of the doors, where he opened it to reveal two queen sized beds. I gently sat down on the end of one, too tired to complain. Norman opened a dresser, fishing out a shirt and pajama pants. Then he grabbed a shirt, handing it to me.

"I'll be back in a minute." He said, exiting the room. I unfolded the shirt. It was a huge gray shirt. I slid my top off, keeping my bra on. The gray shirt fit fine, except the fact that it ended right under my butt, making it look more like a really short, cheap dress. I tugged my pants off, folding them and setting them off to the side. I stared at them. Then I shoved them under the covers. I didn't want Norman knowing that I was only in my panties. Then I crawled under the covers, just as Norman knocked on the door.

"Can I come in?" He asked.

"Yeah." I feebly shouted. Norman came in, wearing dark green bottoms and a plain gray shirt. He crawled under his covers, turning off the lamp light.

"Goodnight, Norman." I whispered, closing my eyes.

"Goodnight Amanda."
