Fast forward to July 18th

Amanda:

I stood in the mirror, dressed head to toe in white. My dress was a simple white, that was very light and lacy. There was a light, silk belt just below my ribs. Below the belt fanned out in light, whispy waves. There was a little velcro part around my knees that I'd rip off later. On my upper half, there was a little swirl of diamond beads. It went from my right side to my left. I also wore the amethyst necklace Norman gave me a couple months ago. My shoes were simple white high heels. My chocolate brown hair was curled, and looked wavy. I wore the lace veil. The veil was split in two, one part supposed to hang over my face, while the other was meant to drag out behind me. I had black mascara lining my eyes, and light red lipstick. A little bit of blush was added to my cheeks, although I'm pretty sure I'd blush the entire time. I smiled at my reflection.

This is it. The big day.

I swallowed and took a deep breath, steadying my nerves. A sudden knocking from the door made me jump. Before I could move otherwise, Jen, Mariah, and Jessica came in, all dressed in a dark purple dress. Mariah's red hair sat in a bun on top of her head, while Jessica curled her hair. Jen's hair was in a bun as well, although hers had little accessories. When they saw me in the dress, they immediately froze, they're eyes widened.

"Dammit, I promised I wouldn't cry." Mariah stated, before taking a Kleenex out of her tiny purse.

"Me too!" Jessica wailed, tears falling out of her eyes. Quickly, Mariah handed her one too.

"Oh my god." Jen breathed, covering her mouth with her hands. "My baby's growing up."

"Jen, don't cry. You're gonna make my mascara run." I said, fighting the tears.

"Oh, don't worry about that. I took all your regular mascara and switched it with water-proof stuff." Mariah joked.

"Thanks guys." I thanked them, turning them around. "You like the dress?" I bought it with my own money, and Norman's never seen it.

"It's gorgeous!" Jessica stated, dabbing her eyes with the Kleenex.

"Your father is gonna be stunned by it." Jen declared.

"You think so?" I asked. To my great relief, my dad and Norman actually got along very well.

"Oh yeah. Big time." Mariah stated, smiling hugely. "God, I still can't believe you're marrying a celebrity!"

"Yeah. Funny how life works that way." I mumbled. I still remember what that cost me. I lost my best friend, and almost got killed by her.

"At least the honeymoon's gonna be fun." Mariah joked.

"Oh god." I muttered, my face brightening up already.

"Well, you two can wait for a bit." Jen stated. She glanced down at her watch. "Crap, we gotta go! I'll go grab your father and then we can get this started!" She declared. Mariah and Jessica followed her out of the little room. I turned back around, and took a deep breath.

This is it. I'm gonna tie the knot with Norman. I'm gonna be Mingus's stepmother. I wonder if he'll be ok with it? I hope so... But what if he isn't? What if he hates me for taking his dad away from him? What if-

My thoughts are interrupted by the door opening. Bob stood there in a dark blue tuxedo. Once he saw me in the dress, his eyes actually started watering. I turned around, feeling my heart melting.

"Dad, don't cry. You're gonna make me cry." I said, grabbing a Kleenex from the box beside me.

"You look great." He stated. "This is it. The day I'm giving you to another man."
