Life Changes

Erwin sat on top of his horse watching as the Armor Titan let out a roar across the valley, "What's happening? Is this hell?" Jean asked seeing all the surrounding Titans stockpiling on Reiner. "Not yet. But it will be." Erwin said riding pass him. Pulling out his sword Erwin orders, "All Soldiers! Charge! We've come to the moment of truth! Mankinds fate is decided now!" He shouts. "We reclaim these lands without Eren and we never will be. Go! Recover Eren from the Armored Titan and retreat!"

Erwin kick his horse forward, "Your heart and soul to the cause!" The rest of the Scouts nod following their commander lead. Riding Erwin kept his focus forward a mistake that will cost him greatly, holding out right arm he hollers. "Advance!" He shouts.

He wince feeling pain out of this world from the sudden appearance of a titan that grab a hold of arm from he surrounding trees. The rest of the soldiers and Scouts couldn't believe what they just witness happen. "Commander Erwin!" a Scout holler. "I said advance goddamn it!" Erwin commands swinging from the Titan mouth. "Eren right in front of you! Do not falter!"

Erwin watch as the soldiers continue forward to the armored Titan. He turn his attention back to the Titan that has a hold on his arm, closing his eyes he cut his arm off using his sword. As he was falling he closed his eyes ready for impact, what he wasn't expecting was landing onto a hand follow by a loud roar and the Titan that bit his arm. It's head rolling by like a bolder.

Erwin blink feeling warmth as he found himself not landing on the ground but another Titan hand. He turn his head staring up wide eyes and in disbelief at the very unique Titan that now hold him. It look familiar but different. 

Its color was black and white with amber and green eyes, black strips going down both eyes like ink-tears. It's hair was long and black with horns falling back like a demon. The wings on the Titan were long and just as dark as its hair. Erwin didn't know if this was a Titan or a flying goddess. 

Laying on his back his breathing was heavy, Erwin knew he had to act quickly. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out the red ribbon that Grim have him all those years ago. "Thank babe." He grunts in pain tying ribbon around his now missing arm to slow the heavy bleeding. I never would've thought this momentum would help save his life after so many years of keeping it safe with him.

While he was doing his arm the Titan was looking down at him holding him tenderly, Erwin stare back into the Titan eyes feeling the familiarity in them. "So, finally showed me your secret Grim?" He smiles. Grim blink surprise that he found out quickly it was her. "What, thought I wouldn't know my own wife?" Erwin smile up at her. Grim look off growling. 

Grim stood tall holding Erwin carefully, the rest of the Scouts, Garrison, and Military Police stop watching them. Seeing the new Titan entering the area. "Wait, is she. On our side?" Jean ask. "I think so." Armin said back to him.

Grim focus turn to the Armored Titan, folding her wing she ran towards the Armored Titan. "Come on! They may need back up!" Armin hollers. The soldiers follow behind the new Titan, "This is fucking crazy! Who is this?" Jean ask. Armin study the Titan, "I can't say for sure but. The fact Commander Erwin isn't killed. It could be General Grim."

Erwin grind his teeth, "Grim. I think I can get Eren back, just get me close enough." Grim nod as she continues running forward. Erwin grab his sword griping it tightly, "Ok, now!" Grim toss him causing Erwin to war cry as he finally rescue Eren from Bertholdt hold. Grim caught him before he could hit the ground. Mikasa catching Eren as he fall.

With Eren in their procession Grim knew it was time to go, Erwin wasn't looking to good. Reiner and Bertholdt stare at her with wide eyes in disbelief. The surrounding Titans all stop with Grim let out her own roar, everything surrounding the area seem to freeze in place. The wild Titans stop looking her way, Grim keep her attention focused on Reiner. She let out a roar like no other. The rest of the Titans charge forward in their direction.

Reiner stood up to run away but the surrounding Titans caught up to him quickly. Erwin grunt in pain, "This may be our only window. Soilders Retreat!" He commands. Grim turn around, bending down she stretch out her wings to maintain her balance. To everyone surprise the horses all ran to her, they settle in her hands taking care to keep Erwin on his loyal steed. 

She flap her massive wings flying the surviving soldiers out of the area. Erwin along with the rest of the soldiers close their eyes as the cold breeze surrounded them. Everyone stayed quiet as Grim flew them back to Trost were everyone one was waiting.

Weeks passed currently Erwin was sitting in a bed recovering from his missing arm. Grim hasn't left his side since the incident. Pyxis stayed close as well as Levi, Grim was grateful for them both. A knock was heard on the door surprising the superiors, "It's Hange. Come in." Levi orders. Grim nod leaning back on her chair.

"Pardon the intrusion Erwin." Hange says. She than notice Pyxis and Grim in the room as well. "Commander Pyxis and General Grim. Glad we caught you all in the same room." She says. Grim wasn't in the mood to listen to anything, at the moment her focus was on her injure husband. "Huh, this is." Hange stare at Conny, "State your name." She orders. "Ma'am. Conny Springer Ma.am."

Grim nod knowing who the young boy is, "Yes?" She sternly ask the two who enter the room. "Conny is is originally from Ragako." Pyxis straighten hearing the name of the small town before, "Ah yes. Where the invasion seems to have begun correct?" He ask. "Yes sir. In face he's corroborated a valuable piece of evidence in that regard." Hange starts. Grim can see the boy was very distraught about something.

After Conny told the group that the Titans that invade was indeed his village Pyxis wasn't that convince. "Your saying the Titans responsible for this were the civilians of Ragako?" He asked again. Erwin thought about it, "I see. So in actuality Titans are human beings?" He ask. "Well we don't have proof yet." Hange says.

Grim kept her eyes down playing with Erwin bed sheet, "Great. Perfect." Levi starts. "I've spent all this time. All this energy. And the things I've been carving through like carrion were people." Grim rub her face along with her long hair. She rest her cheek on her fist as Conny held the picture of his parents in his hands holding back the tears. "Mr. Springer." She call gently. Conny straighten up, "You're dismissed." Grim told him. Conny nod saluting her before leaving along with Hange. Pyxis taking his leave soon after.

Levi watch as every went their separate ways turning around he ask, "Now what?" His eyes widen seeing Grim and Erwin sharing a look. It was like the two was having a secret conversation that he wasn't sure if he was allowed in on. "Um, excuse me?" Levi ask the married couple. Grim and Erwin stare at him, "What's with the smile?" Levi ask Erwin more so Grim.

Erwin stare at him than back at Grim before looking down at his hand that was held by Grim. "Oh it's nothing." He simply states. Levi look at the two unconvinced "Just. Seems to me we've taken one more step towards the truth." Levi scuffs, "Wow. One whole step huh?" Grim only nod, "At this pace it will be a while before we reach it. Not a good rate of return." Levi says.

"Everything comes at a price. One day we'll get close enough to break through. The walls barring us from the truth will tumble."

"A/N: Finally finish with season 2! I know Grim Titan reveal was sudden but don't worry it will play a bigger part in later parts."
