Bethany

Slowly my senses start to come back to me. The first thing I notice is the pain that is coursing through my body. I find most of the pain is coming from my side.

I can’t remember what happened to me?

            Where am I?

I start to hear a humming noise and as it clears up I realize it’s someone talking. Or more like yelling.

“Bethany sweetheart can you hear me?”

Grandpa? Why is he yelling at me?

I try to respond but my body won’t listen to me.

Suddenly I remember seeing all the wolves with the red eyes and I try to warn my grandpa, but I still can’t do anything.

“Bethany everything is going to be alright just stay with me ok? Can you do that for you old man?” My grandpa’s voice cracks a little as he tries talking to me.

Fear grips me because in the background I can hear growls coming from the wolves. Not only do I hear growls though I hear that the wolves are fighting, but whom are the red-eyed wolves fighting?

Slowly I feel the darkness creeping up and pulling me down. Right before I’m pulled back under I’m able to say, “Grandpa go save grandma.” Then everything goes black again.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Is the noise that I hear as I’m slowly starting to wake up again.

I try to blink my eyes, but the lights are too bright. After a moment I’m able to squint and I notice that I’m in a hospital bed, but I’m all alone.

What happened? How did I get here?

I remember the wolves and hearing grandpa, but everything after that is just gone.

The door to my room suddenly opens and in walks

            My Grandma?

“Grandma? How are you all right? What’s going on?” I urgently ask her.

She looks up startled, “Oh baby you are alright. You had us all so worried. We thought you were gone you had lost so much blood. Don’t worry everything will be explained soon ok?”

I just nod my head knowing that she is telling me the truth. She ends up staying with me in my room and we played scrabble on her I-Pad and she ended up winning, but I swear on my life she cheated.

            “How long was I asleep?”

Grandma looks up at me with an unsettling look on her face. Which means that I’m not going to like the answer she is going to tell me.

“You’ve been asleep for five days.”

“WHAT?” I yell. Not at her I mean it’s not her fault, but just that I slept for so long how was that possible.
