Slowly my senses start to come back to me, and then that’s how I notice something is tickling my nose. I quickly brush it away with my hand. Immediately after I brush it away it is tickling my nose again.

My eyes pop open to see black/brown fur wrapped around the front of me. Turning I notice just chocolate brown fur covering my backside.

All right something is definitely wrong. I should be in a tent with my sisters and not surrounded by fur. That’s when realization hits me and I jerk to a sitting position. I’m in the middle of the woods and I don’t recognize anything. I’m not in my tent I’m lying on dirt and I quickly look to see what I was sleeping next to and that’s when I realize they are huge wolves.

Suddenly everything that happened last night hits me with full force. The big black red eyed wolf and these other wolves. I had thought they were going to kill me, but I guess they didn’t want to otherwise I wouldn’t be here right?

Wait what if they wanted to see the fear in me as they slowly killed me.

OH no they are still going to kill me and it’s going to be worse than what the big black wolf had planned for me.

Tears start to fall down my face again about not being able to see my family ever again.

            Snap.

Not even a moment after the sound is made behind me in the forest both wolves stand and growl at the animal. I turn to see a small little fox just looking at the two wolves and fear is shining through its eyes.

The bigger of the two wolves steps in front of me, so it’s between the fox and me. It’s almost like a protective stance which is weird because aren’t they going to kill me?

No they are just protecting their food.

I hear the fox scurry away from us and I can only hear the fox because it breaks a couple of more branches a long the way.

I try to move so I’m in a position to jump up and run away when pain shoots through my right leg. A small whimper leaves my lips and I put both of my hand on my right leg.

I glance up hoping that the wolves aren’t watching; unfortunately luck is not on my side both of them are staring at me. They aren’t looking at me like they want to hurt me though and it’s a bit surprising. The wolves look like they want to help me if a wolf ever had a look like they wanted to help I guess.

Then looking into the blue eyes of the bigger one I feel protected and safe. It isn’t just that I feel like we have a connection with each other. The wolf’s eyes are sky blue and just so captivating. To the point that I hadn’t even noticed that the wolf had moved so close to me until it accidently put some of his weight on my right leg and I wince at the pain that runs through my leg.

The wolf whines softly at my pain and he suddenly moves so he is sitting next to me on my left side.

That’s when I really notice how huge this wolf is, because I have to look up almost six feet just to catch a glimpse of the wolf’s head. A moment later part of the wolf’s body is behind me and he is pushing me back so I’m lying down on the wolf’s stomach. He then puts his head on my stomach and we just stare at each other for a while.
