Bethany

I slowly start to wake up from someone softly calling my name. It takes me a moment before I can open my eyes. A moment after my eyes open I can see someone standing over my bed, but I can’t tell who it is considering it’s still dark in my room.

After my eyes adjust to the darkness I recognize its Chase standing over me.

“Hey what are you doing here?” I softly ask him.

He kneels down so he is at my eye level. “Come with me.”

            “Where to?”

“It’s a surprise. Just trust me and come with me.” He starts to plead with me.

Chase starts to give me a sad face and it’s to heart breaking for me to say no to. I just nod my head and he quickly pulls me up and out of bed. I stare into his eyes because they are so mesmerizing. Chase then smirks at me and I quickly glance down at my feet and step around him.

“What should I wear?” I question Chase as I look through my closet.

“Just wear something that is comfortable and warm. Its still really early so it’s kind of chilly still.” I hear Chase answer quietly.

Even though I’m staying as a guest in this big house I still get my own room and closet. Since we don’t know how long I’ll be here Grandma took me clothes shopping a couple of days ago just so I had some other clothes I could wear if needed.

I grab my new jeans and a new purple sweatshirt. I run into my bathroom to change and I quickly brush my teeth and brush my hair while I’m in my bathroom still.

Frowning in the mirror I don’t know what to do with my hair it’s all puffy. I quickly braid my hair so it’s hanging off of my left shoulder. Once I’m finished I rush out of the bathroom to find Chase playing a game on his phone. I just stand there watching him for a full minute before I clear my throat.

Chase looks up and puts his phone away. “You ready to go?”

“No I just stood there waiting for you because I’m not ready.” I say as I place my right hand on my hip.

He just widens his eyes at me then motions for me to follow him out of my room. Chase leads me all of the way out of the house and to a walking path behind the house.

As I follow Chase I notice his muscles look tense.

“Are you alright?” I ask him.

He turns to face me while he shrugs his shoulders.

“I’m just a little nervous that’s all, but I’ll be fine.”

            “What are you nervous for?”

Chase just shakes his head no. “You will see.”

I just let a deep breath out. Seriously, why won’t he tell me any thing? I mean he did wake me up at the crack of dawn. He can’t just tell me to get up and follow him with out more information.

Suddenly I walk into something that is extremely hard and fall with a loud ‘thud’.

“Are you alright?” Chase asks and suddenly I feel hands pulling me up to a standing position.
