~Nova's POV~
"Morning, sleepyhead." He placed a kiss on my forehead and then fixed his jacket.
"Hi...where are you off to?"
"It's Monday. I have to go work."
"Oh...what about Eva's case? Can't you just request for a day off or a leave?" I sat up from the bed, still with my hair all blown up.
"Uhmm...no, love." He continued fixing himself. "I have to go now. Chief will get mad."
I stood up. From the moment I heard that call, I knew something was wrong. "Who were you with on the phone last night?"
"I told you babe, it was a colleague."
"No...you said it was chief." There, I started to think about the voice I heard last night. Analyzing his every move these past few days, all his excuses, all the idea he pushed to me about Adrien being the culprit...Oh my God. Adrien was right...It was John.
"Oh, you must've misheard me last night. You were tired, baby. You know what? Come on. Let's get you back to bed." He took me by the shoulder but I flicked it away.
"I can do it myself. You should go."
"You sure?"
"Yeah..."
"Alright. Take care of yourself. Love you." I nodded and he left the room.
I took the phone and dialed Bella's cell.
"Bella Saint Peterson. I'm not here right now. Leave a message after the beep."
"Bellatrix, I think that John is behind all thi-" Somebody grabbed the phone from me. I looked up and it was John.
"Women should really start listening to their husbands." He lifted the phone, struck it to my face and I saw nothing.
~Adonis' POV~
The place was dark. All that was present in sight was the bars on my right. It looked kinda like a dungeon.
I heard steps moving towards me, coming from the opposite direction, as a was following the shadow that still has the now unconscious Helix on its shoulder.
"Did you get the package?" I heard the man say.
"Here you go." He grunted as he recklessly put down the poor Helixandria on the cement floor.
"Careful! We wouldn't want her injured when she goes to battle." Battle?
I observed his face keenly and narrowed my eyes. In first impressions, I could say he's a dick, but I'm pretty sure I haven't met this man in my whole life. What does he want?
"Boys boys boys..." wait...that voice. "...you know you shouldn't play with our guest."
Nova...?
"Nova's right. We'll need her in one piece." Ryder?!
"That's what I've been saying to her." That's a her? The shadow started having color and a face. Her hair was black short, her skin was fair and brown. Ren...?
"Sorry that I don't care, I guess?" She laughed. Her voice was just like hers now.
"Have you seen the kids yet?" Ryder asked.
"Not yet. Dean is working on it. He said our beloved angel traced them at Puerto Rico. They must be heading to the island." What island?
"Don't they need a witch to go there?" Ren asked.
"No. That was made up by Lynn to fool Adrien into keeping her in the company to spy on your old friends."
"You cheeky bastard." Their laughs were creeping me out. I had to get out of here.
"So when do we attack?" Ren asked while tying a chain on Helix.
"HELP!...WHO ARE YOU?! LET ME GO." She screamed.
"Don't even try to shape shift into a big teddy bear. Those chains are magical. You won't be able to change into a large whale or something." Ryder said.
"We shall wait for the attack. I want it to be perfect. I'll send them a...follow up message to go to Crimson." The man said.
"Crimson? Can't we change venues or something? That island's getting a bit boring." Nova said.
"It's the only place we can go. That's where the portal was opened."
"Ryder?! Ren?! Nova?! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"
"Oh shut up. Can't we just feed her the potion now?" Ryder asked the man.
"Not just yet. Let's just enjoy this for a moment. For now, I'll get back to spying on the squad." His face slowly changed and formed into someone else...John.
We've all been fooled by a DEMON!
"Hey, boss, what are we gonna do with the real John?" Ren asked.
"I have no use of him. Do whatever you want."
Oh no...
"Don...?" I heard Bella's voice calling me from a distance and I returned to my body.
I panted. Everything I saw was a bit much for me to absorb. "They're all there."
"Who? Who's there?"
"Bella, Nova, Ryder, and Ren!"
"Nova? Where's John?"
"He's held captive. The real John!"
"What do you mean the real John?" Kai asked.
Adrien took me by the shoulder. "Don, focus. Where's Eva? Our kids? Were they there?"
"No. No no no." I stopped, trying to catch my breath. After the years of no training and battle, I've grown rusty on using my powers. "They weren't there. They're still looking for the kids.
"What about Eva?" Bella asked.
"She wasn't there either."
"What happened to Ryder? Is she ok?" Kai asked.
"She's...she's one of them now."
"What?!" They all said.
"What happened to Helix?!" Lou yelled.
"They disabled her powers and I think...I think they're trying to get them to fight beside them."
"Because they know we wouldn't hurt them." Bella said.
"What do we do now?" Lou asked. "How many are they?"
"Ryder, Nova, Ren, and Lynn were a few of them. Helix is being turned to their group and the real John is being held captive somewhere. There's another guy named Dean in Puerto Rico looking for the kids and they have an angel. They must have a witch with them too because of the potions they're making out members take."
"We're outnumbered. We can't trust the angels as of now." Kai said.
"Where the hell is Eva?" Adrien asked.
"She must be held captive too, somewhere."
"You said something about Puerto Rico and the kids." Bella said.
"Yeah. They said that their angel tracked them there."
"I knew it. They're headed to the island." Adrien said.
"Yeah, I heard something about some island too. Wait- how do you know tha-?"
Kai cut me off and answered. "Zia's supposed to stay there at Mystix Island after her birthday for training because she can't be trained at the school for her God-given abilities."
"Makes sense...quite."
"So what now?" Lou asked.
Bella stood tall and said, "We go to Mystix Island."
"Great, a holiday on a Wednesday."
