Long were the years that have passed, people evolved and forgot cultures and traditions. Everything's changed and new creatures were made by the creator. He made humans and gifted, last. All mystical creatures were cast away and witches were punished, just like how Aurea said they would. Their form changed from such beauty to being ordinary...so did the Laveaus.Although the great Laveau witch, Aurea, cursed them all, somehow, Alice's family managed to live on, to live a normal life outside the garden. One of them was a normal witch. Yes, normal...or so they thought.
"Morning, Ms. Dior."
"Shut up, Cass." She laughed with their fake formalities in greeting. "What's up?"
"Ok so...there's been a word spread around about that cute new guy I told you about."
"...and?"
"And he's an angel!"
"So?"
"Uhhhh so???? You gotta go hit him up, that's so!"
"Cass, I already told you like a hundred times, I'm not interested in dating anyone at the moment."
"Oh come on. Just come take a peak at him later at the café."
"Ew, freak."
"Oh come on, girl. He's hella fine. Emphasis on the fine."
"Don't you already have your own boyfriend to look after?"
She shrugged. "My Mr. D won't mind."
"I'm not going."
"Loser. Fine, I'll go by myself."
"Great. More time for me at the library, I guess."
The girls separated ways, one at the cafeteria and one at the library.
"Hey, Monsieur Blanchet. I'd like to borrow a book again and-"
"And spend some time here again. Go ahead, Ms. Dior, as usual." He smiled.
She went ahead to her favorite spot at the very corner of the room and to her surprise, someone else took her spot.
"Excuse me, that's my spot."
He looked around, as if looking for something-under the table, beside him, and behind. "I see no name on it."
"Argh." She groaned and nodded for she can't do anything. All she wanted was to read the book on her hand. She finally decided to sit just right behind the guy's chair.
"Wonderful how evolved and futuristic this place is, isn't it." He asked.
"I guess."
He turned a small angle to face her back. "You haven't been in the outside of this school, have you?"
"Not really. My mom left me here when I was nothing but a mere infant so I technically lived here my entire life."
"Wow...well I was born a half angel from Heaven. Creator said that my behavior needed improvement so he sent me down...here. I rather enjoyed my stay in Heaven. It was quite lovelier than such a tiny school you have here. What's it like? Tough life, isn't it?"
"I wouldn't say so. I quite enjoy myself here. You know? Peace and quiet."
Such wit and mystery got to him and drew a smirk on his face. "Couldn't agree more. What a very wise observation of the place."
"I told you, I lived here my entire life." She answered.
He stood up, walked in front of her and offered to shake his hand. "I'm Waze. Waze Miron."
She looked up from reading her book, looked at the angel in front of her and smiled softly. "Hazel. Hazel Laveau Dior. Welcome to Labbiel Sky University, Waze."
.............................................................................
Everything was great. The school was just perfect...but it seems like every perfect thing in the story has to get ruined.
"Waze!" Hazel said while the demons and angels fought in the school. Turns out, the Battle of Angels and Horns reached the Earth ground when the demon Samael started his rebellion against the Almighty.
She daggered every demon on her way just to get to her man. The demon in front of Waze stabbed him in the gut and looked at Hazel in the eyes. She grew mad and madder, raised her hand, and threw her anger to the demon even if she knew that once she used her magic, the curse of their family would be triggered.
*Flashback*
"Hazel..."
"Hi...?" She said, standing behind the school gates, still facing the woman in front of her.
"I see you've had a love interest...You're all grown up." The woman started tearing up.
"Pardon me, do I know you?"
"No...but you must remember this. NEVER use your magic at any cost!"
"Why is that- who are you?!"
"The curse of the Laveau will be triggered. Don't!"
"Wait!" And just like that, the woman disappeared. She felt a weird sensation inside her. It was like as if she had an attraction to her-not so in a romantic way.
Either way, she wanted to know what the woman was babbling about. Laveau curse...that's her name. I'm cursed? She asked herself and she knew she had to know so she ran to the library as swift as she could. She then bumped to the librarian. "Mr. Monsieur, do you have anything about the Laveau curse?
"How do you know about that?"
"Nothing. I just heard it somewhere- could you please lend me a book or something?"
"No book. I'll tell you what it is..."
*End of Flashback*
"Hazel, no!" Waze yelled but she wouldn't listen.
She ran faster than ever and killed the demon that stabbed her beloved. She took him by the arm and out of the school.
The ground seemed to lost its gravity for she floated to the air and glowed as bright as a star. She felt stronger and healed. A voice whispered to her ear "Only the one that holds you could trust could kill you."
The angels rose, raced up the Heaven. There could only be one reason behind it for it indicates their defeat over the holy ground of the school. A demon shouted and announced their win. His bat-like wings flapped and his horns were curled. Fire...no, lava flowed through his skin and sun bright eyes glowed. "FROM NOW ON, THIS WOULD BE CALLED LEVIATHAN GROUND. BOW BEFORE US!
From then on, the school was ruled by demons. They started building an army of gifted and young blood of half angels they've captured and raised on their own. This is where our great heroes' story began.
