"Number Five, come here."

"Nick," Nick said as he strolled into his father's office. His hands in his pockets, a smile on his lips. He and Diego had just finished burning future Vanya's book. Tonight, they planned to celebrate with a midnight trip to Griddy's for all the sibs.

"Your insolence is not to be tolerated." His father glared at him through the monocle and Nick never flinched. "I will not allow you to continue to behave in such a manner and stir up your siblings."

They considered each other for a few moments before Nick answered.

He looked the old man straight in the eye. "Time-travel is a funny thing. You never know how it's going to affect you." He flashed a small smile. "I learned a lot in the future. About our family. About time. About everything."

Dad moved out from behind the desk. "When you fled this house four months ago, I gave you some advice about time-travel?"

Nick closed one eye, concentrating. "Something about becoming an acorn."

Dad straightened. "Did you?"

"I did."

The air filled with a thick tension. His father looked uncomfortable. "How old are you, Number Five?"

Nick smirked, turned his back, and left the office.
