Chapter Nineteen
Founder's Day
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

Apparently Lucy Salvatore did not get the memo or something, because as soon as the school building was in view. She was instantly met with crowds of people wearing outfits that followed the historical events in Mystic Falls, ranging from old gorgeous gowns, to uniforms from the 1800s.

While the Salvatore girl stood there in her purple overall dress and white patterned shirt. The dark purple yankees cap tightly fastened onto her head, slightly hiding her two short french-braids, and dumbfounded face.

Having thought that she was supposed to dress up for the modern era. But unfortunately it was too late to go back and change into something slightly more appropriate, for she was spotted by Caroline, because a head of blonde hair was all Lucy saw before getting dragged towards a group of teenagers.

Bonnie and Matt looked at Lucy with a mixture of amusement and sympathy, realizing that Caroline — who was the one who dragged her here — will go crazy at her outfit, and not in the good way.

"What is that?" Caroline asked, gesturing towards her entire outfit. Making Lucy slightly shy away as she held her hands behind her back.

     "A dress."

Bonnie snorted while Matt leaned on her shoulder, hiding the fact that he was laughing. But Caroline was not amused as she frowned "But it's not a themed dress. And I thought you were going to dress up, considering your brother did." The Forbes girl lectured, crossing her arms.

"Well, no one really told me." Lucy muttered, "and I've been busy."

     "With what?"

     "Homework."

"But you always finish your homework on the day that they give it to you. I literally saw you hand it all in a few days ago." Caroline protested, seeing through the younger girl's lies.

"I've been doing my own, uh studying." Lucy stammered, beginning to find it difficult to keep lying.

"On what exactly?" The blonde wondered, genuinely curious about the Salvatore girl's busy week.

"On.." Lucy trailed off, her eyes flickering everywhere until a memory came to her "New York!"

Matt and Caroline were beyond confused about Lucy's sudden adoration towards the city, but Bonnie knew the truth. Which earned a smirk from the Bennett witch as she shared a knowing look with the younger girl.
