Chapter Seventeen:
Miss Mystic Falls
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

"Ok ok ok, but, what's Miss Mystic Falls again?"

A frustrated groan escaped Caroline's lips as she strutted down the school's halls, while Lucy quickly followed behind with a look that closely resembled that of a confused puppy "And why do I need to be there?" The young girl asked another question, still not fully aware of what was going with the Forbes girl.

The blonde stopped in her tracks, pulling the young girl to the side of the hall, letting the both of them lean on the turquoise lockers as Caroline began to explain "Miss Mystic Falls is like an annual pageant the Founders' families host every year. It's for the girls in the founding families, but they occasionally let in a few outsiders so no one complains. And it just so happens that I've entered, and now need all the support I can get — which I don't know if you've noticed but that also includes you."

Lucy took a few steps back, replaying the explanation in her head "So you want me to be there as moral support?" The young girl summarized, earning a quick nod as they both continued down the hall.

To be completely honest, the Salvatore girl didn't really care much for the pageant. But ever since what happened last night, Lucy couldn't get her mind off of it. And sometimes the younger girl wondered if it was all just a bizarre dream, however every time she thought of that theory, the same painful memories came rushing back in.

So Lucy opted in distracting herself by shadowing a person with zero involvement with the supernatural world, like Caroline, wanting to keep her streak of being blissfully unaware. Because no way was Lucy going to join in such a personal matter between the two Salvatore brothers.

Plus maybe she could use this time to train as well, since it was painfully obvious that Lucy didn't know what her powers exactly were and how to use them. All that the young girl's been doing was throwing her daggers around cluelessly, and using her teleporting skills as an escape plan instead of utilizing them for different means.

And frankly, Lucy was sick of being oblivious and disregarding her potential. Her powers could make a serious difference between life and death for her and her friends, and could change the results of all their future fights. All that the young Salvatore needed to do was simply put a little more effort when it came to honing her skills.

So as the bubbly blonde continued to rant about the new and competitive event, Lucy silently promised herself to set aside some time for just her and her powers. Even if it meant having to cancel on Caroline when it came to the pageant. Which would hurt the older girl's feelings, but she'd understand.

At least, Lucy would hope that she would.
