Chapter Twelve:
Children of the Damned
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

"Call Your father, hurry Lucy!"

"But What about Henry!?"

"Just call your father!" Her mother shoved her forward, causing Lucy to take advantage of the momentum and run.

Her breathing getting quicker, her mind going a mile a minute. Her heart, beating— no, pounding in her chest. Almost escaping her body out of fear, worry, panic, and almost any emotion at this point. She ran through the woods, her body getting cut by the sharp branches. Finally getting to the tent, she calls the first contact she sees on her mom's phone.

     Her father

The ringing enters her ears, as she impatiently waits for the person she's been wanting to meet. The minutes feel like hours as the ringing still continues. But it's too late once she hears screams from far away, sounding like her mother and brother, she drops the phone from her hands as she covers her mouth, muffling her sobs. Yet the voice in the phone grabs her attention, and distracts her as she tries to listen .

"Wake up, mini me."

Lucy jerks her head back in confusion, wondering why that voice was so familiar. However the screams of her mother and brother cause her to turn around and get out of the tent. Only to be met with a new environment that was purely white, which proved to be a major contrast against the dark forest that held two dead bodies of people who she loved and cared about dearly.

"Wakey wakey, Lucifer. C'mon we've got work to do."

Lucy awoke with a gasp, rising out of her bed as quick as her rapid heartbeat. Damon hears her heart beating fast, getting curious over what she dreamt of "Someone seems to be in a cranky mood." Damon notes, raising a curious brow.

The younger Salvatore turns to Damon with wide frantic eyes, as she swallows the lump in her throat that keeps rising up "Nothing, it's- was nothing." Lucy reassures the older Salvatore.

She clutches her blanket tightly, trying to steady her breathing as she focuses her blurry vision on Damon; who seemed to hold some sort of worried curiosity on his face, his eyes darting around Lucy's shaking form, trying to think of a reason as to why she woke up in such a frightened state.

However the younger Salvatore didn't give him much time to figure it out as she spoke up "What's wrong?" Her hand — that was in a cast, but is now officially healed — was resting on her lap as she stared up at Damon, wondering why he woke her up so early on a weekend.

"It's a not a rogue vampire problem, if you're wondering." Damon says while standing up, he walks to the door way of Lucy's room "But...since you've been gaining some control over your freaky powers. It wouldn't hurt to try them out."
