They walked towards a small gazebo and entered. It was standing in the middle of the melting lake with floating dried, orange leaves. Tyler gaped around and became agitated if it was spring, autumn, or winter. The gazebo was made of beautiful Narra woods lined with silver patterns that created intricate designs, and its cone-shaped roof was tiled with polished black tiles.Eros was behind them keeping a distance of at least 3 metres. He seemed preoccupied, and Tyler felt accusable about it. He thought that he might have come too far that he made his father overthink; but also at the back of his mind, he felt that making gods feel upset sometimes was a good idea.
The once an open valley and magical gardens immediately turned into a cold wide hallway lined with rose gold chandeliers. Every five metres, a new open doorway with stair rails made with carved, ornate and perfectly polished mahogany can be seen. As they walked through, different portraits of royal personages were painted in oils and hung in polished pink and gold metal frames on the black marble walls. The echoes of their footsteps were the only sounds that could be heard, like they've entered the tore veil of happiness and sorrow, and arrived in a place where Pothos suited very well.
"Where are we?" Amber muttered, looking up at the painted ceiling.
"I don't know either," Tyler answered.
"We are on our way to the throne room," Pothos said. "Queen." He added.
Behind them, the darkness seemed to progress as they walked. Eros was nowhere to be found, and the chandeliers immediately turned off as soon as they passed through.
They finally reached the entrance to the throne room. Chills and a whiff of jasmine balm cloaked the whole atmosphere around them like a flower shop door opened.
"Aphrodite." Amber clenched his fists "I know this scent."
Tyler stared at Amber. His expression seemed to tell that he must have met her before.
Eros magically appeared beside him. Tyler almost had his heart jump out of his chest and faint, luckily his eyes just bugged out. Eros's expression was blank. Tyler thought that Love could be mysterious and emotionless sometimes.
He turned to his side. A large window balcony showed the busy outdoors of the kingdom. Elves were gathered carrying baskets under the different trees and bushes to pick up fresh fruits and berries. Satyrs lied on the tree trunks swinging hoofed foot while playing pipes. The warm golden rays of the morning sun sprawled across outside.
A while ago, Tyler asked his father soaring questions that did not allow Eros to answer him honestly and completely. Love might seem to be harsh, but it was always honest, and it would haunt you until you confess. Time and Love both don't go along really well. And that was Eros's fault. So next time you're in Love, smack Eros's poster inside your room and tell him to knock it off! Then let's see what'll happen.
Tyler's consciousness was snapped like a twig and went back to reality. His father was talking beside him. But his mind was flying and didn't hear a thing. "- mood. Just be cool." Eros said.
Tyler stared at his father, blankly. Eros was waiting for another hard to explain question Tyler might ask.
"Just don't act rubbish," Eros said. "She hates anything dull."
Tyler tried to answer. "That's... That's Ridiculous!" He derived with that answer because he knew everything that a God might say was always ridiculous.
"Well, then. Say hi-" Eros bowed as they entered the throne room. A royal bow.
"- to my mother."
