Chapter 9 - traumatic scene

My eyes opened, I looked around and saw Jason, Noah, Steph and mum surrounding my hospital bed watching something on the tv.
I looked down at my hands, Steph and mum were holding them, I squeezed there hands and they jerked in surprise. They both turned around and mum started to cry and hug me, Steph broke down in tears of happiness.

"Mum, mum please your hurting me." My ribs were really sore, Why are my ribs sore? Why am I here?

"Mum.. Why am I here?" I asked really confused.

She looked me surprised. "You really don't remember?"

"No?"

"Honey.. You were in a car accident, 3 weeks ago."

The realisation hit me, the images came back. The car, the crash, all of it.
I panicked.

I looked at Steph, "where's Lucy? Sarah? Olivia? Are they okay? Oh my god this is all my-"

"Don't say that, it wasn't your fault." Steph said, trying to calm me.

"How are they?" I asked, looking at my mum then at Steph.

"Olivia had a broken leg and internal bleeding, a few cuts and bruises. She's fine but she's at home recovering.
Sarah she has minor brain damage, nothing that they can't fix and a few broken ribs, internal bleeding and a few cuts and bruises. She's at home recovering, but she has to come back in for tests and stuff.
Lucy... She.. She's in a coma. They don't think she will make it but she's a strong girl.
And we didn't think you'd wake up, you and Lucy suffered the most injuries. The other car came and hit the side of the car that you and Lucy were on." Mums voice started to shake, she was crying again.

"Mum don't cry, I'm okay, Lucy's okay." I touched her arm and she hugged me once more.

"I'm going to go get your father." She smiled a weak one and went out of the room.

I turned to Steph and really looked at her. She had a sling and a cast all up her arm, cuts all over her face and a cast on her leg.

"How come your not at home?" I asked, "what kinda injuries did you get?"

"I'm not at home because I didn't get really bad injuries, I'm well enough to come here and see you and Lucy.
And as you can see I've got a broken arm and leg and I had internal bleeding but I'm fine now." Steph says and gives me a weak smile. She looks tired and battered.

"You should go home." I said. She needs rest.

"No, I'm fine. I need to stay here for you and Lucy."

"So you got in a car accident huh? That's smart."

I turned to see who it was, it was Jason. He came beside my bed and smiled.

"Shut up." I retorted.

"I'm only playin," he put his hands up in a 'woah bro calm down' gesture, "but seriously, are you ok? You've been in a coma for weeks."

"I'm fine but sore. And I don't understand why I was in a coma, I was awake 5 minutes after it happened."

"Because you were in a traumatic accident, seeing the accident and your surroundings made you go in a state of shock. Your brain waves reacted against one another and part of why you went in the coma. And your injuries were also a cause, you had brain damage, your right ribs broke causing internal bleeding to the kidneys and part of your rib went in to your lung, also a fractured vertebrae, your neck suffered minor injuries and you have a broken leg."

I turned to see who was talking, a female doctor explaining my injuries. She was in her late 30s and was very pretty.

"But I didn't feel much pain when I woke up?" I said to the doctor.

"Because your adrenaline was still running high, you were more focused on other things to realise the pain you were in. It's normal for a patient to experience that, your one lucky girl."

"Yeah lucky.." Pfft I was in an accident, you call that lucky?

Mum and dad came in a few minutes later and dad was crying, and as soon as he saw me he ran straight to me and embraced me in a hug. I started to cry because dad never cries.

"Hey dad." I choked.

"My baby girl." He whispered, and hugged me more.

Hey guys!
I've put up 3 chapters in the last 2 days! I'm in one of them moods where I've got an awesome idea and I just wanna write it and show you guys! But that's a bad thing because I've got an assessment due tomorrow and I haven't even started it yet... But I'll be alright.. I think.. Anyway hope you like the chapter and if you did slap that vote button down the bottom!

P.S. When the doctor says her injuries and the brain waves part, I don't know if that is actually correct but in the moment it sounded smart but yeah if it is wrong just comment or whatever.
