Noctis x Sister Reader [Walk Tall My Brother]

[A/N: This scene will be different from the game]

Insomnia the large kingdom that I and other's call home, that has been at war with Niflheim for years; the sun shined down on this fair city like any normal day but it wasn't a normal day for the palace. My younger brother Noctis was leaving the walls of our home to head to Altissia to marry lady Lunafreya the princess of what was once Tenebrae.

I walked the long halls of the palace heading to the throne room with guards bowing their heads as I passed them once in a while; I was sad and also yet angry that I couldn't go with Noctis on this trip but I guess that was just being the eldest I worried a lot for my little brother since he was always in some sort of trouble if I wasn't around.

Coming to the doors of the throne room I slipped on in without anyone knowing I was there. Seeing my father sit on his throne as Noctis and his friends Prompto, Ignis and Gladiolus stood at the bottom.

"The decreed hour has come, set forth with my blessing prince Noctis" my father's voice spoke in the slight empty room that made his voice seem louder.

"Thank you, your majesty" Noctis spoke to father as he bowed slightly in respect.

"Take your leave and go in the grace of the gods" Father spoke once more to him.

"Right...." was all Noctis said to him before he turned away walking passed his friends as they bowed to my father before following behind Noctis.

I still stood slight to the right of the door, watching them walk towards me; ever since this news was shared Noctis has been acting different towards me. I know I was the eldest and in some cases the eldest in royal families always got picked for peace treaties to marry someone from the enemy side but that wasn't the case here. nit that Noctis didn't want to marry lady Lunafreya he just wished it was in better terms like how we all wished it.

"Noct" I spoke softly wanting to speak to him.

"Save it" was all he said before the doors opened letting him leave the room.

"Apologies princess, he is a bit on edge" Ignis spoke as he and the others bowed once they saw me.

"Its alright, you all be careful out there" I said with a small warm smile to them.

"Of course" he said as they returned the small smile to me before leaving the throne room letting the doors close with an echo.

I turned towards my father wishing to speak to him, I could tell he was nervous and on edge himself about this whole idea; but I had a feeling something else was going on behind the scenes.

"Father, please why can't I go with the other's to help Noctis?" I asked as I walked closer to the throne as he stood.

"[Y/N], you are needed here for now once Niflheim is within the walls you will be escorted out of the city for safety" he said to me as he slowly walked down the stairs with his cane and the brace on his left leg.

"You know I am strong with fighting I can still help Noctis and protect him" I tried arguing a point since I was also trained for fighting.

"I know you are worried for him and I know that thing's have changed between you both but please, listen to your father just this once" he calmly spoke to me placing a hand on my shoulder knowing why I wanted to go with them.

"Yes father" I sighed knowing I couldn't win and he was right about me listening since I never did as a child.

"Thank you, go see them off if you wish" he gave me a warm smile knowing I was going to listen.

I nodded my head before turning away from him and heading out of the throne room to catch Noctis before he and the other's left for the road.

I sure made it just in time when I finally made my way to the doors of the palace, letting the bright sun shine and also blind me for a moment before I saw Noctis and the others walking down the stairs.

"Noct!" I shouted out for him to hear me, which made him look behind him seeing me walking down the stairs.

He sighed for a moment before walking up the stairs to meet half way wanting to know what I wanted right now.

"What?" he asked placing his hands on his hips.

"I just wanted to say something before you left" I said to him.

he nod his head a little letting me know that he was listening and ready for what I had to say to him before he left.

"I know that this whole thing is a weight on your shoulders and I honestly wish I could join you; but if you ever do need anything I will come" I said to him before taking his right hand and opening it when I gave him something.

He looked at it for a moment seeing what it was which was a just a small little coin, he flipped it over seeing the other side since one side was silver and the other was gold. He looked up at me seeing my warm smile. 

"Never thought you kept this" he said to me since he gave it to me when we were younger.

"Its special just like you are" I said with my smile still there.

He wished to say something but I cut him off by giving him a hug holding him tightly, he returned the hug after his shock for a moment.

"You be safe out there and call for me whenever you need help with anything" I said still holding him in the hug.

"Alright I will" he said to me, I think having this small talk helped clear things between us a bit.

We broke the hug as we looked at each other, I smiled once again before placing my right hand on his shoulder.

"Walk tall my brother" were my final words to Noctis before him and his friend left the safety of Insomnia walls and shield.
