The sound of parents greeting their children at the front entrance of The Salvatore school as the kids happily loaded their luggage into the vehicles.
It was officially summer, and in normal circumstances, Delilah and Hayley would go on a vacation.
But this year was different.
It was no longer just Delilah and Hayley. It was now Delilah, Hayley, Klaus, Freya, Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah.
Delilah slowly started coming around to Hayley after their argument. It took a solid week for them to hold an entire conversation without ending in a fight.
A vacation to Costa Rica is what Rebekah suggested for the entire family, plus Ethan and Gia, whose family didn't even visit them.
And soon, they were all seated on a private jet that Elijah had acquired.
The supernatural teens had their section in the back of the plane while the adults took the front area.
"I'm so grateful you asked us to join you." Gia smiled. "So, Thank you for inviting us and making us feel included." Delilah smiled at her friend.
"Of course. I couldn't just leave you guys alone knowing all of our other friends are leaving the school for the summer." Delilah said.
"It is especially hard for Ethan. I know he says he is fine, but It always hurts him to see his friends getting to go home to their families during school breaks. I felt what he felt when I was younger, but I've grown numb to the entire situation." Gia shrugged.
The two girls looked over at Ethan, who was stretched out on the chair, sleeping soundly.
"This is going to be a great summer." Delilah smiled.

Once the plane had landed in two separate vehicles, they rode to the place they would be staying at.
"Holy smokes," Ethan said as his jaw dropped. "I knew your family was rich, Delilah, but I didn't know they were Mansion on the beach rich."
A 12-bedroom 14, bathroom mansion-like house is sitting in front of them.
"Are we just gonna stand here all day, or are we gonna go inside?" Kol asked.
"Dibs on the biggest room!" Delilah shoved Ethan before running inside. "Hey!" He frowned before running after her.
"So, how are you and Delilah?" Rebekah asked Hayley. "We are okay. We are on speaking terms, so It's better than the silent treatment." Hayley shrugged. "She gets her temper from Nik," Rebekah smirked.

"No! Ethan-" Delilah's pleading voice was cut off by water splashing as Ethan pushed her into the pool. Once Delilah came back up for air, she pushed her wet hair out of her face. "You little shit." Delilah groaned. "You couldn't even wait until I got into my swimsuit?" Delilah questioned as she used her hands to push herself up onto the side of the pool.
"I couldn't resist myself," Ethan smirked. "Now that was hilarious," Kol smirked as he sat down in the beach chair.
"Payback is a-"
"Don't you even think about saying it!" Hayley said sternly as Delilah rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"Sorry, mom," Delilah mumbled. She looked over toward the beach and let out a gasp. Ethan was the first to follow her gaze, catching him off guard. Delilah took that opportunity to push him into the pool.
"Gotcha!" Delilah smirked.
"Pizza's here!" Rebekah called out from the back door. Delilah took off running as Ethan struggled to get out of the pool before running inside too.
Water dripped off of their bodies as they made their way to the kitchen.
"Yeah, just don't bother drying off," Klaus remarked with annoyance as he took a sip of his drink.
"Nik." Rebekah said, annoyed, "Let them be. They are fine." Rebekah smiled softly.
Klaus watched as Delilah grabbed a piece of pizza before taking a bite. She looked over at Ethan, who was practically shoving the food down his throat. She covered her mouth, stifling a laugh.
Klaus's mouth twitched upward as a smile covered his face at seeing his daughter smiling.
Gia wandered into the kitchen, and she put her phone on the counter before grabbing a slice of pizza.
Klaus watched as Delilah and her friends sat around the kitchen eating.
He had never felt so content and happy as he did now. Everything seemed perfect.
"Hello!" Delilah chuckled, trying to get Klaus's attention. "Yes?" He asked, snapping out of the trance he was in. "Can we go to the beach later?" Delilah asked.
"Of course, sweetheart." Klaus nodded.
"Maybe we will see some dolphins!" Gia smiled.

Ethan and Gia were swimming around the clear ocean, and Kol, Rebekah, and Hayley sat in lounge chairs, taking in the warm sun.
Klaus and Delilah were walking along the shoreline of the beach.
"Thank you for letting my friends come," Delilah told her father. "I thought that it would be nice to have people your age join us." Klaus smiled.
