"Why can't I just stay here with you?" Delilah asked Hayley. "You can stay on weekends and school holidays." Delilah looked unsure at Hayley's enthusiasm.

Hayley and Delilah were in Delilah's room packing her school uniforms along with some essentials.

"I promise it will be so much fun! Lizzie and Josie will be there." Hayley smiled softly.
"Okay." Delilah sighed, a small smile tugging at her lips.

"And I will never force you to stay there, so if you ever want to come back home, you can do that." Hayley kissed Delilah's head.

"Are you ready, munchkin?" Tyler's voice pipes in.

Delilah turns around, and a smile lights up her face.

"You are driving me?" She grinned. Tyler nods.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Delilah runs out of her room as Hayley and Tyler share a laugh.

Hayley zips up Delilah's suitcase and sets it on the floor.

Tyler and Hayley share a quick hug before Tyler walks downstairs and outside toward his car, where Delilah is patiently waiting in the backseat with her seatbelt on, excited to see her friends.

Tyler loaded the suitcase into the front passenger seat before entering the driver's side and getting in.

The two chatted as Tyler made the short drive to the school. When he pulled up, Delilah could barely contain her excitement. Once the car was in park, she quickly unbuckled and jumped out of her seat and raced over to Lizzie and Josie, who were standing by the entrance.

The trio collided with each other as their giggles filled the air.

"Are you staying with us?" Lizzie asked. Hope nodded excitedly. "Yes!" Josie smiled.

"And I can take that." Alaric smiled as he grabbed Delilah's bags from Tyler.

"Maybe I should just stay for a little while in case-"

"Delilah will be fine! The school is the safest place she can be. She will love it here, and if she changes her mind, it's only a 5-minute drive back to come get her." Caroline joked.

Tyler smiled.

"Tell Hayley I said Hi," Caroline calls out as Tyler walks back to his car.

"Okay, girls...shouldn't you two finish unpacking?" Caroline raised an eyebrow

Lizzie and Josie groan before hugging Delilah bye and running off toward their room.

Delilah grabs her bag and follows Caroline up to her dorm room.

"You will be sharing a room with Layla Bennett." Caroline smiled as she opened the door.

The room was large and had two queen-sized beds with bedside tables in them and a small closet on each side of the room, and a desk for each of them.

One side of the room was decorated with fairy lights and pictures of the girl Hope had yet to meet with her family on the wall. And there also seemed to be a colorful and vibrant theme in Layla's side of the room.

"Layla is the library; once we get you settled in, you can join her if you like," Caroline said softly.

Caroline set the rest of her stuff down before walking out.

Delilah looked around before going to her bed and setting her backpack on it.

She was excited to start a new school where she could learn about magic and how to control it, but some felt sad because her dad wasn't there with her.

Oh, how badly Delilah wanted to not only know who he was but also to have him there with her.

Age: 13

Delilah and Layla lay on their bed Sunday doing what they would typically do, schoolwork.

The room looked different but not that different from when she first started school.
Delilah had added her personal touches to her side of the room. The bedspread is a light pink, as well as her pillows. A few stars hung from her ceiling, and on the wall were star-shaped fairy lights with pictures of herself and her mom, along with photos of everyone she was close with. And she left some space on the wall filled with paintings she had painted throughout the years.

Delilah had been doing exceptionally well in school and her extracurricular activities. Delilah loved soccer, painting, reading, and studying Life in Mystic Falls before she was born.

"So mom is picking me up from school next weekend, and We are going to The Lake House Do you wanna come with us?" Layla asked Delilah.

"No, but thank you for the invite. I'm going on vacation with Mom. She said it was a surprise, so I can't wait to see what she comes up with." Delilah chuckled.

Layla laughed along with her.

"I think she just feels bad because every time I ask about who my dad is, she either ignores me or changes the subject." Delilah sighed.

"Maybe you are better off without knowing him," Layla said, not realizing her words.
"How could I be better off not knowing who my father is?" Delilah said, slightly hurt.

"I didn't mean that." Layla sat up quickly. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay." Delilah frowned. "I know you didn't mean it. It's just about everyone here has two parents, and I sometimes get hurt seeing how Lizzie and Josie get to see their dad every day. I'm envious of them."

"Okay," Layla said, closing her textbook. "Look at me." Delilah sat up as well and looked over at the Bennett Witch.

"I predict that soon whether soon is next week, or in a few years, you will get to meet your father, and everything will be okay." Layla smiled.

"And if you're wrong?" Delilah smirked. "I will forever owe you cheese fries from The grill," Layla said

"Deal."
Delilah chuckled.
