The Back story

Hera was ruthless, she never let anyone step on her toes, and her anger would spur up at the drop of a hat, that is till she saw the Prince. Meliodas was everything to her, ruthless as he was he never was cruel to her and neither was she to him, yet one day she lost her temper. She went overboard on a punishment for a soul that was a rapist, continually ripping him up over and over and over till her eyes shone with blood lust. Her skin started ripping at her neck, exposing more or her skeleton and cerebral column. Meliodas was brought to her immediately at the behest of her servants finding his betrothed holding her head in her mansion floor, reaching out to touch her he watched her flinch away from his touch, "Don't...t-touch me...I look hideous." She whispered, Meliodas clicked his tongue, sitting on the floor and pulling his soon to be wife against his chest, moving her hands away he found her face was skeletal, the skin almost broken off, a missing piece of it lost from her neck. "What happened?" He asked her softly, the girl held his neck tightly, "R-Reapers curse...w-when we lose our sanity...w-we become our true forms..." From that day onwards Meliodas made it his mission to get her to go back to being normal, it took almost 100 years but she was back.

After leaving Meliodas

Maybe falling in love with a human was a mistake...she thought as she lay on the floor, bruises littering her entire body, she knew she would heal soon but the pain was still there. Her fiancé, a human named Michael was passed out on the bed they had once happily shared. Looking towards her hand, the ring she now wore instead of her lovers was a painful reminder that could no longer care for him as much as she wanted. Leaving him after Danafor fell broke her immensely, but she had to leave that all behind, falling in love with Michael was a mistake. Everyday she was beat mercilessly because he felt that she was too headstrong for a woman. That she was tempting other men by her dressing, each day she felt the skin at her neck break showing her that her sanity was at breaking point. Today just happened to be the day, he made her snap. A couple hours later looking at her bloody hands and his mangled body she sat looking at the floor, a burning sensation came onto her thigh, looking down she found a fox, or a vixen on her thigh.

Meeting Merlin and Meliodas after a long time and becoming a Sin then meeting Ban

The newest Sin, the fox sin of greed is sad, that much Hera knew, the way his eyes would look morosely out the window whenever he thought no one else was looking. Sharing a room with him was not what she had in mind, but neither was comforting him, his face in her chest as he cried his heart out for a fairy he had fallen in love with. Slowly and tenderly kissing his head to keep him calm every night he woke up from that same nightmare, each day Hera's neck repaired itself.

After being on the run for over a century

Hera had finally mastered the emotions technique, first being able to split her anger, the aptly named Jade from her body. It took over 40 years before Estrella, her hospitality and kindness showed up, further 100 years and Mei showed up, her compassion making her feel more than usual. And after the last 10 years her lust and love Lilith showed up. Each decade that passed Hera couldn't stop thinking about Ban and the other sins, sending a shadow demon to watch them was easy enough but after seeing Ban finally find Elaine and be with her, Hera could not understand why she hated it more than being happy for her best friend.

Meeting the sins-present day

None of the sins knew how many times she had died protecting them in the past before finally finding them in her house waiting for her. Her anger at the fact that she cared for them so much and they just didn't care about her till now made her skin break more, but she thought she would be okay. She finally found Ban, she finally got to be with him, but this last time, this last fight she had with him had her killing herself. Imagine her shock and horror that the demons her father now had looked like the man she loved, defiling her everyday and turning her insane.

That is why Ban hated himself, other than Meliodas he knew about the curse Queen suffered from, and he knew he had to bring her back to her happiest times.
