Escaping

It's been a day since I've last talked to my siblings. Not even Rafael has visited me. Peter and I agreed that we would do it tonight because we've been timing the guard shifts so we know when Peter could climb into the vents. One minute is how long the guards take to switch. So Peter will have one minute to climb the vents, find and drop through my vent and break my band so I can fly up with him. Absolutely no pressure.

While Peter and I waited for the night, we were quietly talking, hoping no one could hear what we were saying. "Are you scared," I asked him.

"Wildly, but I have faith we can do this. I just feel bad for May and my friends, they are probably worried."

"Hold on, Parker has friends I would have never guessed," I chuckled.

"Ouch, here I thought we were friends."

"Yeah but I thought I had the honor of being your only friend."

"You're definitely third."

"Third. I think I'm okay with third."

"You might be able to beat Ned if you can get me out of here."

"Well now I'm more motivated to leave."

Peter got up and went to the window and in his cell and sighed, "I never get to have a normal vacation."

"I wouldn't call this a vacation Peter," I laughed. "We were kidnapped."

"Yeah but this place is beautiful."

"Yes it is." I stood up and looked out my window. This place really is breathtaking. Under different circumstances I would definitely enjoy being here, but I can't because I'm a prisoner. I looked at the sky to see where the sun was positioned. "We have thirty minutes Peter."

"I don't know why I'm scared. I've fought multiple bad guys. Hell, even aliens. This should just be a breeze."

"Yeah but I think my siblings are scarier." Peter scoffed and nodded.

The thirty passed faster than light and before we knew it, it was time to take action. "Okay Parker your one minute starts...now."

Peter quickly climbed up into the vents... forty-five seconds. He jumped down into my cell... thirty-eight seconds. We had the hardest time trying to break the band off. Twenty-five seconds. He was failing on ripping it off, and we were running out of time...fifteen seconds. "Peter, you have to punch it."

"Are you sure, what if I hurt you?"

"Parker please, a day ago I was thrown against a wall. I can handle a punch." We have ten seconds. I started to hear footsteps on the stairs. "Hurry Parker."

He started punching as hard as he could. It was starting to budge but it still wasn't breaking...five. The footsteps were getting closer....four. Peter needs to hurry...three. Shit two seconds and we were caught. Peter threw one more punch with such force that it actually broke the band. The guard was one second away but Peter and I made it into the vent just in time.

We heard alarms blaring underneath us and knew we had to hurry. "That was a close one," Peter signed, relieved.

"It's not over yet, Parker. This place is crawling with guards, there's no way we are getting out of here without a fight. We just have to make sure we avoid my siblings, or else we are screwed."

Peter and I decided to split up to cover more ground. If anything did happen I can telepathically tell him where I am. My nerves were seriously getting to me. If I got caught everything would be ruined. I would be stuck here for the rest of my life; which would be eternity.

I looked down one of the grates. Damn I really wish I had x-ray vision. I decided to drop down because I didn't see any guards or siblings around. To be honest this was the worst place to drop down, it was a long ass hallway with no doors I could escape to if someone spotted me.

I start sprinting down the hallway, but quietly mind you. Until the floor squeaked, son of a bitch. I halted my movements and looked around to see if anyone was coming. My heart dropped when I saw a shadow one second away from turning the corner. Fuck, fuck, fuck. I looked up hoping there was a vent I could fly into, but just my luck there wasn't.

"Trying to escape me," Oskar questioned. Of course it was him!

I silently cursed under my breath and turned around to face him. "I would never do that to my big brother."

"Yeah, sure."

I telepath Peter hoping that maybe he can help me with this fight I'm about to endure. "Parker, I might need your help, I'm caught and it doesn't look good."

I looked around to see that the rest of my siblings, except for Rafael, decided to join the party. "We don't want to hurt you," Tamarra said.

"You know you keep saying that but you keep doing the one thing you don't want to do."

"Enough of talking, I think we need to stop her once and for all," Delia growled.

I attacked her first because if I was going to die, I needed to see her get thrown into a wall before I did. One after one they started charging after me. Energy balls being thrown, yellow mist floating around everywhere and time stopping and starting again. I can see the hesitation in Brandon and Tamarra when they go to attack me, I know they don't really want to hurt me. I was getting tired, they were getting really good hits on me. One more and I am for sure going to pass out. Here it was, the punch that was gonna knock me out cold. I closed my eyes ready for the contact but it never came. I opened my eyes to see Peter holding Oskar's fist.

"Way to go Parker," I shouted. I felt a lot better knowing I don't have to take the blows by myself. Rafael finally came, what the hell was he doing for so long. I was getting up after being hit with Oskar's energy ball. My siblings were facing me and Ralph was behind them. He pointed to his head. "Glad you finally decided to join the fight."

"I took out the rest of the guards for you."

I was shocked but extremely grateful. "Why would you do that for me?"

"Because you're my family and I love you."

"What do we do about the others?"

"How much strength do you have left?"

"Not much, why?"

"I was gonna say you can mind control them, but since you're getting weaker we can freeze them in time and have Peter knock them out."

"No, they will come after you."

"They haven't even noticed I'm here yet. It'll be fine."

I didn't waste a second to freeze them in time. They were moving very slowly but then I looked and saw Ralph's hands glowing green and they stopped. I quickly shouted to Peter, "Parker hurry up and knock them out."

Peter didn't waste a second running up and punching Oskar, Brandon, Tamarra, and Delia out cold. We let time go again and I dropped to my knees; tired. Both Peter and Rafael came running over to me, making sure I was okay. I told them I was fine and stood up. It took me a second to gain some balance but all in all I was able to do it.

"What are you going to do," I asked Ralph.

"I don't know. It all depends on if they know I helped or not."

"If they know you did, you come straight to me Ralph. I'm serious. I can't lose you."

He nods and turns to Peter, "You need to knock me out to make it look real."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, call it payback for not stopping your kidnappi-"

Peter punched him before he could finish. I didn't even try to stop laughing. "He deserved it."

"Maybe a little bit. We have to leave now if we plan on making it back."

"How exactly are we going to do that?"

"Like this." With that we teleported back to my apartment, but I was so tired that I passed out.
