Going Back

Not Inevitable

It seriously felt like I was fighting forever. These aliens seem to be appearing out of thin air and it's annoying. I was fighting one of the dogs when a bigger one was behind me. I didn't realize it was there until I heard a screech. After killing the dog, I turned around and saw Peter killing a gorilla-beast-like thing.

"Thank you," I mumbled, shocked that I'm seeing 2023 Peter.

"Uh..yeah no problem." I studied him for a little bit. Still has his baby face but you could tell he was younger. Also has a different suit, but I got to say this one was pretty cool. On top of that he was sweaty and dirty, but hey we all were. He cleared his throat, pulling me from my thoughts. "Um a-are you...are you okay?"

"Y-yeah... yeah sorry."

"No, it's okay. Stay safe out there."

He was swinging away when I shouted, "yeah you too."

After my awkward confrontation with Peter I flew up to the sky to get another look of the battlefield. Everyone seemed to be fine, but I was worried about Wanda. She is currently fighting Thanos. I watched for a few more seconds, to have my nerves evaporate, seeing her totally kicking Thanos' ass. While watching I felt them again. The stones.

I did another look around and I found them next to Peter. I wasted no time flying over to him. Right when I was about to help him Thor's hammer flies by my head and Peter latches onto it. Great, just great. I took off after him. His web got sliced by an enemy causing him to fall, but Pepper was quick to catch him. Then she threw him to someone on a pegasus. Seriously?! Now to top it all off Thanos decided to rain fire on everyone, causing Peter to fall with the stones and everyone else took cover. Ugh, this day really is the worst. I create a shield around myself to protect me. All of a sudden the firing stops but continues a second later. "Wait, what the hell," I muttered to myself.

I look up to see the ship firing towards the sky. I have no idea what's happening right now, I guess Strange and Peter forgot to mention this part. All of a sudden this ball of light crashes into the ship, seizing its fire. The ball shoots out of the top and it's revealed to be Carol. I laughed to myself because I'm not going to lie, that was impressive.

I see Carol land right in front of Peter and I go to follow her but one of those stupid whales in the sky chase me. What the fuck! This is getting really annoying. It's like every time I try to help something always goes wron- wait. Oh my God. Oh no. No, no. That can't be right. The Cosmic Entities wouldn't interfere right? Right? I mean my siblings did say they would try to stop me, but shit if that's true this is going to be a lot harder than it should be.

I got some good distance from the enemy and me, and when I was far enough I turned around. Which means I was flying right at it. I shot the whale with all the dark matter I could produce and it exploded. It was now or never. I have to do this before the Cosmic Entities really do stop me. I hear these whispers in my head. I try to ignore it but it's making me dizzy. "Stop it," it whispers to me. "Stop it before we stop you."

"Who are you?"

"We are the stones communicating with you." Fuck, I knew it. "We don't want to come after you, so just stop what you plan on doing."

"Sorry but I'm not much of a listener." I look over to Strange to see him holding up his finger, looking at Tony. I grunt, frustrated that he didn't listen to me.

"Please, don't do it."

"Sorry, can't hear you." Thanos is now putting on the gauntlet with the stones. I see Tony running towards him. So I do the only thing I can think of: mind control. "No, you are going to sit your ass on the rock behind you."

Tony does as I say. Strange sees this and is panicking and shocked. He sees me flying so fast towards Thanos and can't help but feel a little angry. Thanos looks at Tony and says "I am inevitable."

"No. Your. Not," I screamed before he snapped his fingers. I hit him with enough energy and dark matter to make him weak but not kill him. I landed and wasted no time pulling the gauntlet off of Thanos' hand and flying into my hand. At first it was a little big but the gauntlet quickly adjusted to fit my hand perfectly.

Thanos groaned before he looked up at me. Surprise and shock spread across his entire face. "How?!" He said this because I was wielding the Infinity Stones and I was taking absolutely no damage.

"I'm not an ordinary person." I took a glance to my side to see the Avengers' still fighting. I thought I would help them out a little and freeze all of Thanos' army in time. This caused all of the attention to be turned on me. Not going to lie, I felt famous.

"This is not possible," Thanos snapped.

"I mean look around you, did you really think something like this wasn't possible."

"The stones are too powerful, no being should be able to wield it."

"Yet here we are. That's your problem Thanos, you think you are so unbeatable, unstoppable." I chuckled, "There will always be someone out there that can stop you."

"Who are you?"

"I don't think you deserve to know." He tried to get up but immediately fell to his knees because he was too weak and in pain. "Now I'm going to give you a choice here. You either go back to 2014 or you say goodbye to this universe forever."

"Why are you doing this?"

I couldn't help but laugh. "You have no idea the last weeks I have endured. Long story short, I was asked to stop you and I did."

"Before I make my decision, can you tell me how you can wield the Infinity Stones."

I looked down at my hand to see the Infinity Stones glowing and then I heard the whispers again. "You have betrayed us, and you won't like your punishment." Great. Something I have to deal with later. God, sometimes I just wish I stayed home that day I met Strange, but now that I have actually saved Tony, this weight that was on my shoulders has finally lifted. I just rolled my eyes and didn't bother commenting something back.

I turned my attention back to Thanos, "Because I am the Infinites Stones." I saw something on Thanos' face that felt good: fear. I smirked at him. "Now what are you going to choose?"

"I am inevitable."

"God will you quit saying that." Without giving him a chance to speak again I snapped my fingers. It took a minute for Thanos' entire army to dust away, but before Thanos dusted away I said one more thing, "See you in hell!"

That was it. That was the end of Thanos and Tony was alive. Haha Tony was alive. I actually succeeded. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding in. I felt gazes burning into my back and realized the Avengers were still here. Right, this is going to be fun.

The first person I made eye contact with surprisingly was myself. Since I used the stones I knew that my past self would come to see what the problem was. I was shocked to say the least, my past self by the way, and so was Rafael. At first they thought I was a fake, but then they looked down at my hand and saw that I was wielding the stones. I gave my past self a nod and not a second later they were gone.

The next person I looked at was Tony Stark himself. He was afraid but also intrigued. He raised one of his repulsors at me. I threw my hands up in surrender. "Right there's fine."

"I promise I'm not gonna hurt you."

"Yeah, well today has been a very long day, and I have no idea what to believe anymore."

"Understandable." I went to take a step closer to him.

"Ah Uh." He shook his head. Telling me to stay put, so I did. "You. You've got a lot of explaining to do."
