Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2

Byul has been anxious since Jin left. He called her earlier saying that he is now in Sandeul's house. She told him to get some rest and take his mind off from what transpired between him and his dad.

"Byulie?" She didn't notice that her mom is now inside her room.

"I've been knocking on your door and you aren't responding. The door isn't locked. Is it fine with you that I went in? Are you okay hun?" Ms. Moon worriedly ask.

"I'm sorry mom. Everything happened too fast. We're just chillin around, then I saw a mark on his face and he just left. The tension is too high. What happened?" She tried to sound her mom out.

"Jin had an argument with Yong joon. A big one. It's just a misunderstanding. I think your dad is just overreacting." Ms. Moon went near and took a seat in front of her.

"I'm glad you and Jin became close. Is there anything you want to share with me?" Ji won softly asked.

"Mom. What if I don't see him as my brother? Will you be mad at me?" She carefully asked.

"I won't be mad at you Byulie. I have no control over your emotions but you know that no matter how you look at him, he is now your brother. Right? I don't want both of you to get hurt. You're still young sweetie. I have convinced your dad to not do something drastic. We have to help Jin." Her mom apologetically said.

To be honest, she was feeling a little hopeful but now, she's uncertain anymore. She's more worried of what's going to happen to Jin and his dad. She's concerened of how this will affect him.

He is already slowly regaining his sense of self but this incident may hinder him from moving forward. She needs to do something.

"Do you know where Jin is?" - Ms. Moon

"He's staying with one of our friends."

"Once I settle things with your dad, tell him to go home. He shouldn't be on his own in this kind of situation. Don't worry Byul. Everything will go back to normal."

Ms. Moon hugged her, giving her assurance that things will eventually be better. Hopefully.

"Byul, we're a few minutes away from your house. See you in a while." Yongsun called her informing her that they are now on their way to her place.

Now, they have arrived. The first one to greet her was Heeyeon.

"How are you Byulyi? How do you feel?"

"Why are you here all of a sudden?"

"We heard from Jin. He was the one who informed us of what happened. He said that we need to look after you while he's away."
Yongsun enlightened her of the situation. They are now inside her room.

"Look at that idiot. He's struggling more than I. He's hurt more than I am and yet he's still thinking about me."

Her tears just suddenly flow from her eyes. She couldn't hold back her emotions anymore. She is overwhelmed. They were just having their normal day.

A few days back, they have promised to each other that they'll never let go. Just a few days and now they are being tested. She's hurting for him and it's worse that she couldn't be by his side.

"Byul, Jin needs you to be strong specially now. It's okay to cry your heart out. Don't suppress what you feel. We're here for you. The very best thing that we should do right now is to trace who started this mess." -Hani

In Sandeul's house...

"The pictures were sent to my dad. Those were taken before the pageant. I have no idea if the person who did this have a lot more photos of us that can confirm our relationship. I don't even know what their intention is."

"Those photos could be taken by the members of the university's publication. You two were featured lots of times in different blogs, pages and websites. Anyone could have an access to it. You're not cautious at school since only us your friends know your situation." - Sandeul

"We have to narrow down our prospects. It's possible that the sender of the photos knew that you and noona are step siblings that's why they sent it to your dad. It could be because of money, but that person should have approached you first to blackmail you." - Namjoon

"Maybe they are giving you a warning? And that person already has an idea that you and Byulie are together." - Sandeul

"And that person really wanted for us to break up that's why they went straight to my dad." - Jin

"The only reason I can think of, for them to do this is either that person wants you or wants Byulie." - Sandeul

"The motive is somehow clear. For your relationship to end. So that person knows you're step siblings, knows you are together, and has feelings for either of you." - Namjoon

"That person is surely crazy. Maybe they are obssessed with you." - Sandeul

"I can only think of two people but I'm not sure of it. They didn't know that we are step siblings." - Jin

"Minhyuk and Sowon? But I think Sowon is more likely to do this." - Sandeul

"We can't take any action based on our suspicions alone. We may expose your relationship to more people if we do." - Namjoon

"What are your plans now Jinnie?"- Sandeul

"That person will most likely approach us. It's either they are still waiting for the outcome of what they did or they will tell us what they want. For the meantime, all we can do is wait. I just need to make sure that Byul is okay." - Jin

"Noona must be shaken up. How is she doing?" - Namjoon

"Yongsun unnie and Heeyeon are there. They will be staying there until I come home." - Jin

"You haven't told us what your dad's reaction is." - Sandeul

"He wanted me to stay away from Byul. He threatened me that he'll send me to America if I won't stop with my 'stupidity'." - Jin

"I didn't know that it'll be that bad." - Namjoon

"I won't let it happen. Besides, Aunt Ji disagreed with him. I'll see what the situation is but other than that, I need to keep it low. I'll try to convince them but if they really won't allow us, we have to leave. I don't care about other things anymore. I just want to live peacefully with Byul." - Jin

"Is Byul okay with that? Did she agree?" - Sandeul

"We share the same feelings. I think she will agree. She told me that she cannot and does not want to be separated from me." - Jin

"You have to talk about this first. Think about it carefully. A lot of things are at stake." - Namjoon

"I do think so too, but let's treat your face first bro." - Sandeul
