"Baby? Are you up here?" I tiptoed up to the loft this morning in search of Emily.

"Hmm?" She busily typed from her desk, keeping her eyes focused on her computer screen. I walked up behind her and ran my hands over her shoulders. She hummed, "That feels nice."

"Tense?"

"Very... Did you need anything?" She spun around in her chair and gave me her attention.

"I thought we could do something fun today with Henry since all three of us have a day off."

"Sure. Have something in mind?"

"It's been a while since we've taken him to The Mall... It might be nice to just walk around for a while. It's a beautiful day out."

"Is it?"

I laughed and pulled the blinds open, "Yes it is. You wouldn't know, hermit."

Emily rubbed her eyes and nodded, "Kay, babe, lemme just wrap up this chart and I'll come get dressed."

I placed a kiss on her cheek, "Love you, doctor."

"Love you too, angel." I blushed at her pet name and then bounced downstairs to help Henry get ready. He was pretty cooperative once I told him where we were taking him.

"Awe we gonna go to the White House?" He excitedly asked me as I handed him a shirt to pull on.

"Sure, Hen, we can walk passed there if you want."

"We gonna see the president?"

I shook my head, "Momma and I aren't big fans of our current president so don't plan on it."

His eyes lit up, "Momma's coming?"

I giggled, "Of course she is, buddy. Does that make you happy?"

"Yeah! I love Momma." I always loved hearing him say that.

"Tell her that when she comes down, I'm sure it'll make her day better."

"She having a bad day?"

"Just busy with work."

"Why she coming if she has wowk?"

"Because she thinks it's more important to spend time with her family."

"Dats us!"

"Right on, Hen. Need help with your shoes?"

"No, no I got it... Momma taught me." I watched in fascination as he tied his shoes with unparalleled concentration. He smiled and exclaimed, "See!" I had no idea Emily taught him how to do that, so I was very impressed.

"Wow! Good job, baby!" I gave him a high five and laughed along with his adorable giggles.

"What's going on in here?" We saw Emily push the door open and step into Henry's room.

Henry smiled and held his arms out, "I love you, Momma!" He's good at following directions I guess.

Emily chuckled, "What a greeting that was... I love you too, Henry." She picked him up with one arm and placed a mushy kiss on his cheek. He grabbed her face and tilted it down to reach her forehead, giving her a kiss in return. I always swooned at watching their interactions.

I looked Emily up and down and raised a brow, "You're already dressed, babe?"

"Mhmm." Henry busily played with her hair, and I loved how she just let him go at it.

"That was fast!"

"Well I knew you'd both be waiting and I didn't wanna be the one holding us back... Why? Do I look okay?" She had on a tan, suede jacket over a black turtleneck along with skinny black jeans and black boots. Emily was a big fan of androgynous fashion and I thought it suit her really well.
