— Emily's POV
Jennifer and I had originally planned for only one more addition to the family, but I guess some almighty force in the universe had other ideas. "Nicholas and Eleanor, come down here!" I called to our twins from the basement, where I was currently standing with my arms tightly crossed. Four tiny feet started pounding my way.

They simultaneously launched themselves downstairs and panted, "What?"

I pointed to a pile of plastic on the floor, "I almost broke my a-s-s because of this, can you pick up your toys please? We have to be at Grandpa Dave's soon."

Nicholas tilted his head to the side and asked, "What does dat spell?"

I heard JJ start to snicker from the couch so I hushed her, "Oh quiet, you." I turned back to the twins and sighed, "Just pick this sh— stuff up."

Eleanor trudged over to the couch and whined, "I'm tiwered. Can't yew do it, Momma?" She gingerly climbed up and shuffled onto JJ's lap.

JJ brushed her hair back and asked, "Ellie, whose toys are those?" She shrugged and kept twirling a strand of JJ's hair. "Come on, baby, whose are they?"

She sighed, "Me and Nicky."

JJ smiled and said, "Good, so that means you and Nicky have to go pick them up." Nicholas walked over to me and squatted down, starting to pick up some toys.

I whispered to him, "Great job, buddy."

He stood up and turned to Eleanor, "Ewwie you gotta help too!"

She rolled her eyes and groaned, "Fine!" Her stomps were deliberate, signaling how much she didn't wanna help clean.

I sat down on the couch and said to JJ, "She gets that from you."

She scoffed, "Does not!"

"Does so! She's always had your sass."

"Are you calling me sassy?"

"Yes."

She scoffed again, "Well I... Then you're... You're... You're..." She sighed, "I can't even think of any bad traits for you."

I put my hands behind my head and smugly smiled, "Guess I'm perfect then."

She pecked the corner of my mouth, "To me you are." A child launched itself onto my lap before I had a chance to respond to that.

"Ah! Jesus, Ellie!" Ellie giggled as she climbed up my torso, using me as a jungle gym. She was holding a toy unicorn in her hand and pretending to make it walk all across me. I chuckled, "I thought you were putting your toys away, young lady."

"My unicown wanted to pway wif yew, Momma!" She kept laughing and giggling as she dragged her unicorn all over me. I couldn't care too much because of how adorable she was. I thought Henry was a mini version of JJ but Eleanor has him beat by a mile. She's literally a carbon copy of my wife. Nicholas looks like her too with his blonde hair, but we think he takes more after his sperm donor. He made his way over after cleaning up and calmly crawled into JJ's lap, laying his head on her chest and closing his eyes. He was much more lowkey, if you haven't noticed. The doorbell rang from upstairs so I set Eleanor in my spot before jogging up to answer it. I opened it and was met by Henry and Penelope, who picked him up from school today.
