"Hello Miss.Carter, your boyfriend is here to see you, would you like to see him?" I smiled.

Thank god. I hadn't seen Vinnie since the restaurant. I didn't even know if he was ok until now.

"Yes please... thank you."

She left the room and came back inside, but behind her wasn't my boyfriend.

"... that's the worst idea you've ever had."

The person standing in my doorway wasn't Vinnie. It was Justin Ryan. My ex.

A million thoughts were passing through my mind in too few seconds to answer them all.

Why was he here? How did he know? Why did he lie about being my boyfriend? Why did I date a person with two first names?

But I only asked one.

"What are you doing here?"

The silence was deafening. He was just standing there. Not speaking a word.

"Hello? You gonna answer or no?"

He snapped out of his trance.

"Do you see it?"

"See what Justin?"

"How much I love you?"

"What the hell are you talking about?" By now I was extremely concerned, because I think I knew exactly what he was talking about.

"I did it for you. I love you."

"Please tell me that I'm wrong... and you didn't shoot  anyone, and you didn't start that fire."

"I can't lie to you princess."

"Go. Now. Before I call the nurse and make them call the cops on you."

He said nothing. Just came up to me and picked up my shaking hand, kissing it gently. I slapped him, a red mark starting to form on his cheek.

Justin slinked away, creeping off into the night of the hospital.

I looked out towards my window, seeing flowers, one was from Avani, the others were from Josh.
