I am getting released from the hospital today. The burns that litter my arms and parts of my lower legs are disappearing... which the doctors say is a miracle. I have a cream for the scaring, and an ankle brace from me kicking on the door of the bathroom.

I was extremely lucky. Vinnie wouldn't be out for another few days. Even once he is released, the doctors are going to have him on moderate bed rest  until he can walk without wincing.

His room was much brighter than mine, the walls painted a bright, clean white. He had more flowers now then he did a few days ago, and they were everywhere. On the windowsill, on his little desk, on the cabinet area where guests could put their stuff.

People love giving flowers as gifts. Me being people. I mean they're bright, colorful, lively, they smell good, and they make you feel like your in a book, or movie or something.

My hospital room was very similar when it came to the never ending supply of flowers. I mean you get them from friends, family, supporters, even old teachers that live in the area.

I turned my head from the corner of his room, where three bouquets of flowers laid in vases of different sizes and colors. From left to right: Dahilas, Peonies, and Irises.

Vinnie was laying in his bed, reading a book. He looked so peaceful.

Robyn came into the room, interrupting the silence. "Oh, um hello Miss.Carter are you ready to check out?" I dreaded those words. For so many reasons.

1- I won't be driving with my leg the way it is, for a week... aka no hospital visits

2- I hate having to explain my parents TriCare and insurance things to places. Half of the places didn't take it that insurance, and it always takes so long to explain.

3- I would have to say bye to Vinnie until he gets checked out :(

4- My dogs are going to be a lot to handle, and I'm really just not up for their constant cuddle needs right now.

There's more but that's enough for now.

"Thanks Robyn, I'll be out in a little bit." She left the room, waving bye to me and Vinnie. "Alright... I gotta go babe. I love you. And I will see you as soon as you get checked out." He smiled and I left a kiss on his left cheek, nose, right cheek, forehead. And last but not least, a long one on his lips.

"Bye angel, see you soon. I love you." He stared deep into my eyes as he said that, his voice raspy and quiet... so that I was the only one who could possibly hear it.

I smiled and headed out of the room, to the front desk to check out.

2 hours later

You know that moment when your family went on a trip and you get back to your house and it smells new? Ya, that's what my house smelled like when I walked inside.

"Aaron are you home?" I yelled from the front door. He usually had meetings around this time a day, so I wouldn't have been surprised if he wasn't.

"Nope, just us." It was Avani and Josh.

"Aww I missed you guys so much. I feel like I haven't seen you guys in forever." I smiled, leaving my crutches by the door and limping over to Avani.

"We visited you El, but you were always out cold." Josh laughed, hugging me gently.

"I loved the flowers, they were beautiful."

"Thanks, I picked them out myself." Avani smiled.

I missed both of their smiles, they just lit up the room.

It was about midway through summer, and school, our senior year was around the ben. My schedule was supposed to be in the mail yesterday, but I hadn't checked due to my unexpected trip to the hospital ward.
