That night you laid in bed, only getting about three hours of sleep before waking. Then you just laid there, trying to fall back asleep for about an hour. You were a typical insomniac, it was 2:00am and it was likely you weren't going back to bed.  You knew you needed to sleep. Three more hours and you would need to meet in the Corporals office.

You signed, getting out of bed. You were still in your uniform. White pants, whit blouse tucked in and harness. Your jacket was draped over your desk chair. Stepping into your slippers and grabbing your book you opened the door to your room and quietly exited, wandering to the stairwell and down to the mess hall.

Opening the door, it was dark, looked empty. "Strange.. but okay..." You mumbled to yourself as you walked over to the kitchen. You had pretty good night vision. It helped having been here a few times so you knew where everything was.

You walked to the cupboard and pulled out a teacup. Then went to the tea drawer. "Okay.." you signed. "Chamomile... No... Fruit tea.... No.. green tea... Yeah no... Black tea...Hm.." you mumbled to yourself before choosing the black tea and putting the kettle on.

You leaned against the sink and hung your head, waiting for the kettle. Eventually, your ears perk up and  hear that it was about to whistle, grabbing it before it could make too much noise.

After making your tea you grabbed a candle and some matched before going to sit at a table. Placing your items down you struck a match and lit the candle. Humming a sigh you cracked your book and read it aloud in a soft voice, pausing every now and then to sip your tea.

After some time you looked at the clock. It was 4:30, you had been sitting in the mess hall reading that book for hours more than you realized. "Well.." you grunted as you got up, marked your page, closed the book and stretched. "Until next time.."

You moved to the kitchen, washed and put everything away. You even wiped your spot at the table down before putting the chair back as it should be. Then you left to get ready for roll call with Corporal Hardass.

After straightening up for the day, you went and met the squad outside of Levi's office. The mess hall was located on the first floor, boys sleeping quarters on the second, girls on the third and offices were on the top floor.

"Hi Mikasa!" You greeted her.

"Hey, I didn't see you this morning, getting into trouble?" She teased.

"No, I was up early." You laughed. "I've been ready for a few hours now."

You continued with the small talk, when the clock struck five, Mikasa knocked on the door.

"Come in." Levi called in his usual cold voice. Everyone entered, forming a line infront of his desk and preforming the salute. He waved a hand for us it 'at ease'.

Wow this room is huge.. Your eyes scanned the room quickly. It was large with multiple bookshelves. A desk in the middle with a door on the far right, you assumed that led to his sleeping quarters. Of course, this was all impeccably organized and clean.

Levi stood up, coming around the deal with his clip board. He walked up to the first cadet on the right, his left. "Name." He looked at them before glancing down.

"Armin Arlelt, Sir!"

Levi then moved on, keeping his eyes on the clipboard, not even asking the following Cadets for their names, he just moved from one to the other. Each saying their name when he stopped I front of them.

"Jean Kirstein!"

"Eren Jaeger!"

"Mikasa Ackerman!"

Then he moved to you, "(f/n) (l/n), Sir!"

He then stepped back and centered himself infront of the squad. "Today we are going to be training in Titan killing. You have been working with mock Titans, today you will experience the real thing." His eyes moved from person to person. When the landed on you, you almost shivered. Not only was his disposition icy, his gaze was as well. Emotion absent. "Don't be an idiot. If you hesitate in this training you will die. If you don't trust your comrades, you will die. If you don't trust in your training, you will die."

Not going to lie you were a little lost in thought while he was speaking, he must have noticed. "Cadet (l/n)! Am I boring you?" He snapped.

You were brought back to earth, "No, Sir!" Shit! I totally zoned out!

"Because I can save the Titans the trouble by killing you now, is that what you want?!" He sounded serious. You could feel the other cadets eyes on you.

"No, Captain!" You looked straight ahead.

"Then get pull your head out of your ass and pay attention." He scolded. "If I catch you neglecting to pay attention again you will be on cleaning duty for a week."

Your face was a little pink from the embarrassment. "Yes, Sir." You nodded. Just wanting this to be over already.
-------

Shortly after that disaster everyone met at the training grounds. Everyone prepared to go over the walls and kill some Titans. You were assigned to pairs, Eren and Levi, Mikasa and Armin, you and Jean.

Levi and Eren exicuted two ten meters flawlessly. Eren having been a scout for some time now, he had no trouble.

Armin took down a six meter with little effort, Mikasa bagged an 12 meter. She made killing titans look graceful as she was such a natural. That's the Ackerman's for you.. you thought with a chuckle.

Now it was your team's turn. "Alright, are you ready (y/n)?!" Jean said excitedly.

"You know it! Let's go!" With that you guys zipped down.

You spotted a 12 meter, it was tall with thin wrists, ankles and neck. Sickly looking. You shot your gear. The right anchor flew over the beasts right shoulder and hit a large tree just past it. "She missed?!" Armin said, alarmed.

Mikasa smiled. "No, she didn't."

You flew past the left side of it's face, dodging it's big hand that tried to grab you. Once you were over the left shoulder a ways, clothes-lining the beast, you pulled in, preforming a spin attack slicing the head clean off.

While in the air you anchored the big tree again, landing high on a thick branch for safety. Jean was standing on-top of his dead ten meter just below you. "Awesome job, (y/n)!" He called, waving.

"You too!" You said with a smile, before seeing it. Jeans Titan landed on a small four meter that had now crawled its way out from under the limp body.  It was just a few meters away from Jean to the right.

Without thinking you fired an anchor that hit the ground next to him. "Hey, what the hel-!" He jumped.

"Get down!" You shouted, cutting him off as you flew with speed toward him. Jean hit the ground seconds before you reached him, swing your blade you beheaded the "tiny" Titan.

Jean hit up and turned around, noticing the new titan body, hands just a foot away from him. "Holy shit.." his eyes widened.

Meanwhile Armin had spotted the titan, Levi was ready to repel down, though he knew he'd be too late. They looked in disbelief at your quick reaction.

"Tch.. Alright, brats, this portion of training is done for now!" Levi barked.

After Titan training, everyone did a 3 km run followed by sparring. five hours passed before you guys made it through the training day. Then the squad was to clean their equipment and return it to Levi's office.
