Chapter 13

Eren had long days with the experiments trying to perfect his hardening ability. In one instant he only partially transformed, leaving his lower body hanging out. Levi made a comment about Erens scrawny ass hanging out causing you to stifle a laugh.

Recently Erwin sent a letter to Levi, delivered by one of his trusted scouts, it noted that the military police have deemed the Survey Corps responsible for the torture and murder of Pastor Nick, which was in fact, happened at the hands of the interior police themselves. It also noted that they planned to raid the hideout they were currently using. This caused Levi to give the order to pack up and leave, going into hiding. Everyone with you, including yourself was now a criminal.

Sasha, Connie and Historia joined your group, the squad was tasked with protecting Historia as she was found to be the true Royal heir

From a hilltop everyone watched as the military police raided the former hideout. The Scout that arrived to help tip off the group notes that Commander Erwin was taken into custody after handing off the letter.

Everyone returned to Trost, undercover with the hope to not be discovered. Jean and Armin acted as body doubles for Historia and Eren. Making them a target in case of ambush.

"Don't walk to close together" Levi uttered as everyone started to emerge from an ally, proceeding down the busy street.

Tensions were high, everyone kept their head down. Without warning the sound of wheels and hoofbeats were approaching. And fast.

"Move!" Levi yelled as he shoved you and Connie out of the way.

The driver of the wagon sped by, scooping the body doubles in the process.

Your group broke into teams, one that would watch over the body doubles and the other that would watch Eren and Historia.

You perched yourself on a rooftop, watching intently as the wagon carrying Eren and Historia encountered a crowd of people. You was Levi climb onto a rooftop to your right, quietly chatting with the other scout.

Just as you were about to turn your gaze back to the wagon, you noticed a tall figure wearing a hat making his way to Levi. Shit.. not one of ours. You panicked. Whipping your head around you saw a hand track the top of your rooftop. All of the squad was accounted for, this was not one of yours either.

You ran at the person climbing onto your rooftop, bringing your boot up and stepping down, hard on this person's hands. Turning you yelled "Levi! RUN!" You saw him turn, seeing the man approaching. Levi tried to signal his teammate next to him, it was too late. An echo of gunshots runs in your ears.

That's when you felt a hand around your ankle alongside a sharp pain. "Got you, bitch." A gruff female voice sounded, before you could react they gave your foot a yank, sending you on a five story fall  to the ground below.

You saw Levi look at you before turning to run after them man you heard him call Kenny.

Opening your eyes you saw darkness. Where am I... You groggily thought, that's when you realized it wasn't darkness, you had your face in someone's chest. You felt a breeze on your skin as you were carried through the air. Before finally landing.

You looked up to see a man, tall, dark hair. He kind of reminded you of Levi. "Who...?" You mumbled.

"Easy, you were shot with a sedative" the man said before pulling out a small needle "This should counteract the affects" he pressed it into your skin. You slowly became more alert, your limbs that were once numb now had feeling. "There we are."

"Who are you?" You blinked.

"My name is Will, allied reinforcement." He confirmed. You racked your mind. Will...Will..sounds so familiar.

Before you could finish your though you saw an enemy fly in on IDM gear from behind. Out of instinct you reached your your blade, throwing it through the air. It hit the assailant between the eyes causing them to hang from the anchor that still held in the wall.

Will looked over his shoulder "Impeccable aim.." he mumbled.

"I need to go, thank you." You tried to get up, your legs failing you, causing you to fall into his lap. "Fuck.." you grumbled angerly.

"You were out for a little while, the scouts are calling back" he assured you, holding you in place.

Slowly, one by one, everyone returned. Connie, Sasha, Jean, Armin, Mikasa and lastly Levi.

Levi talked with Mikasa for a moment before scanning his surroundings. His eyes slowly fell on you before glassing over with darkness. Making you feel uneasy. Like you needed to get up. Now.

"Thank you for your help.. I need to go talk to my squad." You said, turning to Will. He nodded and you got up out of his lap.

With a brisk walk you passed by Levi, feeling the slightest friction between jackets as you did so.

Weeks passed. Eren and Historia were successfully retrieved, Historia took her rightful place on the throne and the scouts were no longer criminals. Things were starting to look up.

It was the end of autumn. Your squad was eliminating any lingering titans before winter. You had gotten better, flawlessly dispatching four at a time with assists from Mikasa and Jean. You and Mikasa often assisted eachother, the pair of you were a great team.

Will and Erwin watched you from atop the wall, you didn't know when you met him but Will was second in command on Erwin's squad. "Shes something else, isn't she?" Will said to Erwin as you brought your blades down on another titans nape.

"Indeed," Erwin replied with a smile "She may be clumsy sometimes but her alongside Mikasa are our most promising Cadets."

You seemed to be seeing Will more in passing, You hadn't really noticed him before. When you did you made an effort to say hello.

You arrived late to the dining hall for supper, your friends had finished and went to bed, tired from a long day's work.

As you hovered your face over the steam coming from your soup, you felt someone sit at the table across from you. It was Will. "Tired?" He laughed at the groggy look on your face.

"Fucking. Exhausted." You groaned before taking a spoonful of soup.

"You have excellent technique by the way. I saw you drop like eight titans all together today." He complimented you.

"Thanks." You mumbled. "Practice makes perfect."

"It's not practice, you're a natural." He gave a small smile.

Before you could answer, you heard someone walk up behind you. "L/n, can I see you in my office after you are done here." You heard Levi's familiar cold tone.

"Yes, captain." You said without turning to looks at him, you heard his footsteps walking away from your table.
