You scrambled backward until your back hit the wall. "Oh my walls.. I..uh I-I just.." you started, he stepped forward into the dim light and picked you up by your chest harness.
"What do you have to say for yourself Cadet?" He hissed through his teeth, pushing you into the wall. Your face was blank, you stared at him. In this soft light... You noticed how attractive he was. He gave you a shake "Your superior is talking to you, Brat."
You raised your hands to show your surrender, your face turned a soft shade of pink, not that anyone could see it. "I didn't know you were my reading buddy." You giggled and gave a small smile. He stared daggers at you. "I mean I always knew someone was here, that's why I read aloud.." you babbled, as you looked past him you saw something on the counter, it was the exact same book that you had, this copy looked new.
He looked over his shoulder, then awkwardly shifted himself to block your view, still holding you up, about two feet off the ground.
"Captaaiinn.." you narrowed your eyes, "Did you buy that book when we went out just to read along?"
He dropped you, causing you to fall back onto your ass. "Shut up." He snapped, obviously embarrassed. He walked over; grabbing his book, he paused to pick up his teacup before sliding the book under his arm.
You got up and dusted yourself off as he stood there watching you, sipping his tea. "you know, I thought it might be Connie, or Jean. I never expected you.." you thought aloud.
Levi clicked his tongue. He walked over to the table and sat in the chair next to yours. Placing his cup down he opened the book. You stared. Is he going to read with me? I mean I can't just up and leave now that would be kind of insulting. You thought to yourself.
Walking over you slumped down in the chair that was about three feet from his. "I was on chapter two when I started reading. Have you caught up? We are on chapter three now." You said looking over at him. He ignored you. "You know if you went through the trouble to be here every night, never announce yourself then BUY the book the least you could do is talk to me."
"Do you want to talk or do you want to read." He said sarcastically, glaring at you.
"Read " you sighed, opening your book. Glancing over you noticed you guys were on the same page.
"Then shut up." Levi answered before sipping his tea.
The both of you spent the next few hours reading in silence. To your suprise it was pleasant. Though he didn't talk and had an icy, distant personality, it was nice.
You noticed the sun beaming through the window. Closing your book, you turned to Levi who was also getting ready to go. "Are you done with that?" You pointed to his cup.
He gave you a nod and you picked it up, bringing it over to the sink, you washed it. Then you took a rag and wiped the table down where the both of you sat before placing the chairs as they should be.
"(L/n)," Levi said as you went to leave. "I know today is the squads day off training, but I need you to see me in my office after breakfast."
"Yes Captain." You needed before leaving.
-------Breakfast--------
Everyone sat at there usual tables, Levi Squad on the far right, Squad Saptains to the left, next to them was Hange's Squad and lastly was Erwin's squad.
"Y/n, you seem to be in a good mood today." Armin commented.
"Yeah, you could say that." You responded with a small smile.
"What has you so happy?" Jean teased.
"It's nothing" you lied, "Just in a good mood I guess."
Everyone chatted amongst themselves for about an hour, you had already finished eating. "I better get going, I wanted to do some laundry for tomorrow. If I don't do it now I never will." Everyone waved as you turned to leave.
You only made it a few steps, almost past the squad leaders table when Jean caught you by the arm. "Hey, y/n, since we have a day off today I was kind of wondering if you might..uh.. w-want to hang out with me." He said awkwardly. It wasn't a strange request, you two were friends.
"I have a few things to do today" you told him, "But I'll find you later and let you know." You smiled.
"Okay, sounds good." Jean looked like a happy puppy as he went back to the table.
Turning to leave you noticed this went down I front of Erwin's table. Hange leaned over to you a s winked "I think he likes you." She teased. You laughed, shrugging the comment off as you went to do laundry before your meeting with Levi.
-----30 minutes later------
You approached Corporal Levi's office. Since it was an off day you wore a pair of black jeans with your white blouse tucked in the front, your hair was down instead of in its usual ponytail. it was more casual than if you were in uniform. Raising your hand, you knocked.
"Come in." He called.
Walking in you saw he was hard at work. Though you didn't really know what he did aside from special ops missions. "You wanted to see me, Sir?"
"Yes." He cleared his throat. "For your inappropriate behaviour in the mess hall, you will be doing my paperwork today." He didn't even look up.
Your jaw fell open "Inappropriate behaviour?" What the hell was he talking about.
"Take a seat, Cadet." He gestured to the chair at the edge of his desk, still not looking up from what he was doing. "Corporal Hardass is going to put you to work for the day. " He with his dry humor.
"Fuck sakes." You mouthed, rolling your eyes. He glanced up from his work, eyebrows furrowed as he looked at you "What are you wearing?"
You signed and took a seat "It was my off day, Sir. "
Levi handed you some paperwork "Attitude, Cadet. You better watch it."
