Chapter 12

The three weeks went by fast. Your lie to Jean about the infirmary being full turned out to be true, so Levi let you use his room as long as you needed. After an examination, it was found that the ribs were merely cracked. You were cleared to resume light training.

Levi hadn't touched you since that night. He was attentive and kind, which you found to be both out of character and fitting.

You put on some casual clothes and grabbed a towel. You wanted to head to the girls bath and have a soak. Levi had a private washroom with a shower though you wanted to see your friends.

Opening the door to the sleeping quarters you entered his office. Levi was sitting at the desk doing paperwork. "Going somewhere?" He asked, not looking up from the work on his desk.

"Just to the girls bath. I wanted to relax a bit before resuming training tomorrow." You told him. He nodded, still focused on his task, then you proceeded to the exit.

It was about 8pm, so Mikasa was probably there already. You looked forward to seeing your friend. Entering the washroom you found that you were right, Mikasa was soaking in the tub. "Long time no see." You told her.

"Finally came out of your cave?" She teased.

"You could say that" you chuckled.

"Jean says the Captain was holding you prisoner in his sleeping quarters." Mikasa looked at you, expecting an answer.

You took your clothes off and stepped into the tub, sitting back. "the infirmary was full and the higher ups are the only ones with constant access to painkillers" you sighed. "It wasn't bad. He was very respectful, kind and attentive"

Mikasa laughed "That seems hard to believe! He was riding our ass all week, Jean especially. "

"I feel bad for him. He barged in on the first night I was there, tried to take me." You mumbled, leaning your head back. The steam coming out of the tub fogged your vision.

"What?" She asked "Jean didn't say anything... All the Captain had to say was that you had an accident and were in recovery."

"Yeah he picked me up, causing my cracked ribs to hurt like a bitch. The Captain walked in as I was telling Jean that he was hurting me. I swear the Captain looked so mad!" You laughed before adding "I'm just happy Jean got away unscathed."

"So where did he sleep?" She raised her eyebrows.

"In his chair." You told her. "trust me the Captain wouldn't try anything. He was very respectful. You wouldn't guess it but he cares about each of his comrades."

Mikasa signed. She believed what you said. He didn't seem like the type to take advantage of everyone.

"Who all did Jean tell?" You asked still looking at the ceiling. Ready for life to be over.

"Just me. I told him to keep his mouth shut." Mikasa said.

You lifted your head to look at her "Thank you."

Everyone met on the training ground for the next day. You were all geared up and ready to get back to it. Levi had everyone start hand to hand combat, you however were stuck going through basic ODM gear manoeuvres to ensure you didn't feel anymore pain.

You went through everything that has happened while you were out, the Captain filled you in before training. Eren was a titan shifter, he successfully helped restore the walls that had called due to the armored and colossal titans. Apparently a bunch of people already knew what Eren was. They just kept it quiet.

After practicing everything you already knew how to do, you reported to the Corporal. "I have finished redoing my basic training, Captain." You said, a bit of annoyance in your voice as you walked up behind him.

Levi was supervising the other Scouts hand to hand combat, he hummed a reply without turning around. After a few moments he spoke up "Pack the wagon with supplies for one week, ready the horses, Hange will be waiting to assist you, wait at the stables when your done."

"Yes, Sir." You started to make your way to the stable.

As you neared the large wooden building you saw Hange next to some boxes, ticking off a list. She waved when she saw you coming.

"I was sent to assist you in readying the wagon, ma'am." You stood infront of her, hands clasped infront of your waist.

"Don't worry about that 'ma'am' stuff with me, call me Hange." She waved off the formalities.

As you helped load and organize boxes, you chatted, trying to fill awkward silence. "I don't know why the Captain fought bring you on this mission." She thought aloud.

"He didn't want me to come?" You asked, frustration in your voice.

"He was actually quite adamant about it." She continued. "But you look like you've healed up fine to me." She smiled.

"I am. He just has me doing basic training and grunt work. Like I'm being punished." You sighed. "What's the mission?"

"We will be heading out of town to test Erens titan abilities." She smiled, anticipation on her face. "I just can't wait!!" Her voice got high with excitement.

You were excited too, you hadn't seen Eren in Titan form. It would be interesting to see a titan up close that wasn't trying to eat you.

Not long after the wagon was loaded and horses readied Levi and the rest of the squad arrived. He briefed everyone on what was just told to you before departing.

After about a two hour ride you saw a small cabin in the distance. Levi was at the front, leading the squad, followed by Eren and Mikasa, then Armin and Jean in the wagon with you and Hange in the back.

As everyone arrived the horses were feathered to posts next to a large trough. Armin and Jean helped unload the supplies.

Entering the cabin everyone was assigned a room to clean with Levi of course checking everyone's work.
