Your eyes opened. It was morning. You looked at the time it was 10:00am. You felt your heart jump. You were late to training. You got out of bed, feeling a sting of pain, making it hard to move. That's when you realized that you weren't in your room. This room was larger. Extremely clean and tidy. It had a double bed, dresser, desk, private washroom and closet. There was even an upholstered chair in the corner.

While looking around you noticed a letter on the desk next to a glass of water. It read:

L/n,

You probably don't remember what happened early this morning. You were an idiot and refused to let me take you to the infirmary before passing out. More will be explained when I get back.

You have been excused from training today. Stay here, sleep. Drink the water left out for you.

L.A

You took the glass of water, sitting down with the letter in your hand you took small sips out of the glass. Trying to remember what happened.

6:00pm rolled around quicker than expected. Levi entered the room carrying a tray with your supper on it. When he got to his office he walked over to the right, toward his sleeping quarters.

Opening the door he paused. You were sleeping on the bed, one of his books still in your hand over your chest. You also had two more smaller books you already read on the side table. He quietly moved all the books to the desk, setting the food down.

"Hey.." Levi gave your arm a shake. You grumbled, rolling over, hugging one of the pillows to your chest. "L/n, wake up!" He said a little louder.

You woke up with a startle, sitting up straight. The motion caused you to wince "Ow..." You held your ribs.

"Finally, back to the land of the living." He said sarcastically. Looking down at you bring your ribs. "Are you injured?" He pulled his desk chair up to the bed.

"Yeah.." you looked at him. "Its from the mission the other day."

"You idiot. Why didn't you say anything." He scolded. "Show me." His voice was just as cold as usual.

"Ok.. one second." Your ribs hurt more today. The damage was on your right. So moving your right arm or leg caused pain. Slowing you swung yourself over the edge of the bed, then moved to try and take off your harness. Breathing was hard too.

"Just let me do it." He added impaitently. He moved his hands to the chest buckle, then slid the harness down. Moving to your legs he unbuckled the straps on your thighs. "Okay, where does it hurt?"

"Your going to me mad at me." You sighed. Even sighing caused pain. At about the third button down from your shirt you began unbuttoning. Levi looked away. After some time struggling you finally got them undone. "Right here." You knew it would be obvious when he looked.

"L/n what the hell... Are you stupid?" He looked at the dark pink, purple and yellow bruise that spanned across your entire right side. "Lay down." He walked to his private washroom.

You laid back, you could hear the water running and him mumbling to himself. He returned with a washcloth dampened in cold water. "Move your shirt." He instructed. "You should really go to the infirmary."

You rolled it up and tucked it under your bra. "No." Was all you said in response. Levi checked the area.

"It's hurts to breathe? And move certain ways?" He asked

"Yes" you stared at the ceiling. "It wasn't this bad after the mission."

"That ass you delt with this morning must have furthered the injury." He looked at you "You have cracked ribs. One may be broken" Levi explained the events from last night incase you had forgotten anything.

"Oh."

" 'Oh'? You should have told someone about this right away." He glared at you.

You turned your head away from him, looking out the window on your left. "I know."

Levi noticed the mark he placed on your neck was still there. "I was late getting to the mess hall.. I actually wasn't going to go.." He confessed. "If I would have gotten there on time this wouldn't have happened."

"It's fine." You said. Sadness in your voice "It's not your fault."

He pressed the cold towel to your side. "This will help with the swelling." You startled at the cold feeling then flinched in pain from your sudden movement.

"Hey buddy go easy that hurts!" You yelled. "I mean, Sir." You added softly after.

Levi rolled his eyes. "You're lucky I can't kick you like this." Was that his attempt at a joke.

"It never hurt like this after you'd kick me." You commented, looking down at him holding the damp towel.

"That because I knew what I was doing." He mumbled, grabbing a price of bread off the tray. "Eat." He instructed, handing it to you.

You took the bread and nibbled on it. "So, this is where I've been since I passed out?" You looked around.

"Yes" Levi went to re-dampen the towel with cold water.

"Where did you sleep?" You asked.

He exited the washroom and pointed. "In the chair." Sitting down, he reapplied the towel. "Before you day anything, it's where I usually sleep." He almost smiled.

"Can you help me get this harness off, it's all balled up under me." You asked, uncomfortable.

Without words he helped you sit up. Grabbing the harness, Levi started tugging. "Shit."

"What's wrong?" You asked

"Just forgot a buckle." That he did, the one around your waist, under your belt. Swiftly, Levi removed your belt, setting it aside. Then proceeded to unbuckled the harness.

You watched him closely. Despite being who he was, Levi was gentle and being quite kind. "Thank you." You mumbled as you watched him slip it out of your belt loops.

He moved his hands to your thighs, sliding the straps down to your feet. "There.. it's off." He hung the harnesses up on a hook.

You sat on the edge of the bed, a little pissed you couldn't go to training. Levi walked over, leaning behind you he organized the pillows to support your back.

Before you could stop yourself, you wrapped your arms around his waist and gave him a hug.
