To be honest, the hike wasn't so bad. The wind felt loud in Narrator's ears as the others shouted excitedly to each other. The view is filled with tall, monstrous mountains and lakes stretching across the area.
God, nothing could ever top this. Narrator glanced at the group; Eddie was laughing along with Cassandra as she pointed to the cliff sides. Narrator felt something tug his arm: lil' Emmie.
"Hey, Emmie." He smiled.
The little girl simply stared- she probably couldn't understand him over the noise- before extending her arms and mouthing "Up, up."
Narrator complied with a laugh. He rocked her back and forth as she rested her chin on his shoulder. He could just melt.
"Hey!"
Narrator heard someone shout: Eddie.
"Is someone stealing my boyfriend!" Eddie laughed.
Narrator chuckled, "Oh, don't be jealous!"
"I'm not, pendejo!"
"Don't curse in front of the children!" Valentina scolded.
Narrator ignored her, "Oh, someone's jealous of this adorable thing." He gestured to the girl in his arms.
Eddie rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
Oh yeah, he's jealous.
