Hit The Pool

The rest of the dinner was easy going. Most family members dropped the 'Eddie's bisexual and dating a guy' subject, and moved onto to focus on Cassie's recent engagement. (Her new beau lived miles away, and couldn't come due to work.) The buffet station was almost out of food, and Eddie and Narrator ditched to go swimming.

They had their suits underneath their clothing, and Eddie wasted no time jumping into the cool waters. Some of his family seemed to have the same idea since he saw Valentina and Ben enter with her brother's Lukas and Carson behind them. Grant paid them no mind.

"Is the water cold?"

Eddie snapped his attention back to Narr. "It's fucking freezing, cabron! The chlorine's tangling my hair though; do you have a brush?"

Grant quirked an eyebrow that the comment as Val approached him. "Hey, Grant."

"Oh, hello there, Val."

"You and Eddie going for a swim?"

"Yeah, might as well since there's a pool."

Valentina chuckled before returning to awkward silence, "Look I'd like to apologize."

"For what exactly?" Grant crossed his arms.

"For acting so distant when Eddie introduced us. I don't know much about being attracted to the opposite gender,"

Grant scowled.

"But I do know what it's like to be in love, and I can tell when love is there. I wanted to say sorry and congratulations."

Grant slightly smiled. "Thank you, but the person you need to apologize to is Eddie."

"Don't worry; I will." Valentina smiled. "So," She held her hand up for a high-five. "We cool?"

Grant slapped her hand. "We cool."
