Eddie knew he was going to hate this phone call. It's not like he had any other choice. Leighton bailed out on him, and he promised his parents they'd get to meet his boyfriend. He finally wanted to come out, and he may not get the chance. Unless he makes this phone call. With a defeated sigh, he dialed Narrator's number. As the phone vibrated, Eddie began to doubt. Maybe he should just hit the end call button. It wouldn't be so hard.

"Eddie?" Narrator's voice crackled from the other line. Shit, too late to back out now.

"Grant, hey." Eddie tapped his desk nervously. "Listen, dawg. Are you in town?"

"Yes?"

"Okay, I need a hand."

"With what exactly?"

"You know how me and Leighton had a fight?"

"Yeah... I thought you were over him already?"

"Kind of, but that's not the point." Eddie sighed. "Look, my family is having a reunion, and I told my parents they could meet my boyfriend. And you're the only person who lives close that they haven't met, so..."

Eddie could hear Grant shift uncomfortably. Narrator cleared his throat. "So you want me to be your boyfriend." He mumbled.

"No! No! Not exactly! Like... Fake dating; please, bro, can you pretend to be my boyfriend?" Eddie waited impatiently for Grant to respond.

"You need to ask me out first, man."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I'll help you out."

"Awesome! Thanks, dawg. So... My family is having a get together; do you wanna be my date?"

Grant chuckled lightly, "I'd love to go."

Eddie smiled. "Great, I'll pick you up tomorrow at 2."

Eddie hung up and cheered at his accomplishment. He can do this. He's got this.
