Okay, so sharing a bed was more awkward than Eddie thought. His back was turned to Narrator. His eyes glaring at the wall in front of him. Come on, man. He turned onto his back and stared at the ceiling. We're both wearing socks, said 'no homo,' and agreed no feelings will be harbored. 

Eddie heard the sheets crumble as Grant let out a content sigh. Narrator's back was facing him, and Eddie turned to face in the other's direction. His eyes glued to the back of Narr's head. He hissed a hushed curse. "Ah, fuck." I think I'm failing rule 5.

And without warning, Grant flipped over to look at Eddie. Eddie jumped. Narrator smirked in the dark. "Whatcha thinkin' about?" He queried as if he was at a sleepover.

Eddie relaxed back into the bed. "I... don't know."

"Is it me?"

Eddie let out the breath he didn't know he held. "...No." Lies.

Grant smiled. "Alright, then what's on your mind?"

"Leighton, I suppose." That was somewhat true.

Grant's smile dropped. "What about him?"

"I'm pissed at him."

"As you should be. He's a dick; I don't know why you keep him around."

"Woah, I may be pissed at him right now, but that doesn't mean I don't love him."

"He's awful; he wouldn't even come over to the reunion! You needed your best friend to help with that when he knew how important this was to you!"

"He's my business! Not yours!"

Grant scorned at his friend. Eddie did the exact same. The stare down went on for a bit before Narrator's gaze softened. He whispered. "He doesn't deserve you."

Eddie didn't know how to reply.

"Do you need a hug? I'm... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that."

Eddie nodded slowly as Narrator pulled him into a hug. He drifted into sleep surrounded by warmth.
