Eddie and Narrator retreated to their room as the pool began to fill with guests. Eddie allowed Narrator to have the shower first as he reviewed the list of activities Cassie sent him.
Tomorrow, they- meaning him, Narrator, Cassie & Emmie, Mom & Dad, Cousins Val & Carson & Lukas, and Tia Haley & Tio Miguel- are going hiking. That'll be fun. Cassie also wanted to go shopping with Valentina, Grant, and him later in the week. Swell. And near the end of the week they're... going to play water volleyball? Alright, fine. This'll be a good week.
Narrator came out of the bathroom, dressed and ready for bed, his hair damp. Eddie admitted it was a good look on him. (He's a bro, but not blind.)
Grant smiled. "You're staring."
Eddie chuckled when he realized he was gawking. "Sorry, man. I'm surprised you don't have a girlfriend. You look great."
"I don't know; I'm kind of in a relationship right now." Grant laughed back.
"Is it serious?" Eddie followed along.
"Maybe for now, I guess. He is my best friend; I'd do anything for him."
"Anything?"
"Yeah? This better not be going where I think it's-"
"Then perish." Eddie smirked.
Grant snorted and doubled over laughing- falling onto the bed beside Eddie. Eddie giggled and smiled in turn.
