Alyssa's POV
It was the morning of our wedding. Exactly a year to the day he asked me in that airport.
It seemed like such a long time ago. Carter's four now, and looking more like Niall than ever. The other day he even asked if he could dye his hair like Daddy did every month.
I made the transfer from New York to London while they were touring, and trying to plan a wedding at the same time, and surprisingly, it all came together perfectly. I had no help from any planners, I wanted it to be more intimate and special.
Currently, I was landing in Mullingar, and Niall insisted he go first, so I was on the next flight out, a day later. He took Carter with him, to my dismay. I won't get to see either of them until the wedding day, which was tomorrow.
He arranged a limo to pick me up and bring me straight to the Hotel I was staying in, while he was staying with him Mum and family. The wedding dress was safely delivered to the house, and waiting for the news on that nearly gave me a heart attack, on top of that was wedding nerves.
Weddings are so happy and important. I don't care about the legal rights or the rings, it's just the coming together and being happy is all that's important. I just love the fact that everyone we love, is going to come together to see Niall and I unite forever. It's truly special.
The second I opened the door for that hotel room, I knew Niall had been in there, his aroma of Armani Mania was apparent right as I walked in. Plus, Carter left a toy train sitting by the door.
We'd made a pact not to text or call each other, and he made me promise that I was going to text his mother straight as I landed, which I was already ahead of.
I set my carry on bag and suitcase on the bed and was met with a single journal lying on the feathered pillow. Curious, I opened it and was met with Niall's scrawly handwriting.
"Reasons why I want to marry you..." He wrote, and I turned the page.
"1, you're the most beautiful person on this planet. 2, you're an amazing mother. 3, the way you scrunch your eyebrows together when you're deep in thought. 4, when I tell you to stop biting your bottom lip and you continue doing it. 5, your bum when you bend over to pick up Carter's toys. 6, when you think I can't hear you singing in the shower. 7, your perfume. 8, you're carefree." I smiled at his overly cheesy thing to do. I flipped to the last page, and read the short note he'd left in the back. "I love you so so so so much. Without you, I don't know what I'd do." He signed off with four x's and I closed the notebook and set it down carefully and went to go to the loo.
He left a few spa treatments on the counter, along with a small tiara. Next to it lie a single pink sticky note, "You're my princess, you deserve to be treated like one."
I took the bath salts and candles he set up around the tub, and lit them all. He of course made sure to get my favorites, apple pie, cinnamon and spice, vanilla, and gingerbread.
After an nice bath, with my tiara on, it was getting late and I decided to go to bed. But the second I slid my arm under my pillow, I felt a lump. I pulled whatever it was out, and was met with my favorite candies, with another note taped on.
"One more sweet surprise for my princess. See you tomorrow. Love you. -Niall & Carter." I ate the small candies and finally drifted off, preparing for the biggest day of my life tomorrow.
-/-/-/- The Next Day -\-\-\-
I requested that I'd only have Carter, Liam, my parents, and Niall's parents along with me in the bridal room with me, I didn't want to be pestered so I could stay relaxed. Niall and I decided against having bridesmaids, groomsmen, and our best person's so it would feel more intamite and special.
"I can't belive my sister is getting married before I am." Liam adjusted the veil on my head before giving my forehead a light kiss.
"That's your fault mister. Danielle's waiting." I gave him a wink before shooing him away so I could talk to Niall's mom, who brought in Carter.
"There's my handsome boy!" I opened my arms up to him before a big smile appeared on his face.
"Momma, you look like a princess! Daddy's gonna love it!" He fumbled with the end of my mermaid's dress while I smiled at him.
"Thanks, you look quite handsome as well don't you." I complimented him back as he fumbled with his bowtie on his neck.
"Lyss," My dad called out to me. "It's time."
He put his arm between mine and gave me one last look before walking out there. The second I opened my eyes and saw Niall standing there with the biggest smile on his face, it felt like we were the only two people in the whole entire universe.
The funny thing is, I can't even remember half the words the priest said I was so lost in the moment with Niall. I only remember the preacher saying, "You may now kiss the bride." and Niall joining our lips together. It felt like our first kiss all over again. Fireworkds were flying everywhere around us, and before we knew it, we went from boyfriend and girlfriend to husband and wife.
He picked me up bridal style, pun intended, and carried me out to the car waiting to bring us to the country club.
"Well Ms. Horan..." He drifted off with a smile on his face.
"What?" I poked his cheeks and he kissed my finger.
"Nothing, I just love saying that." He leaned into me to kiss me for the second time officially as a married couple. To our dismay, the country club was only two blocks away, so our kisses were short lived.
Niall grabbed my hand and carefully pulled me out of the car, and pulled me into the ballroom, where we were met with a chorus of screams and camera flashes. Niall pulled me into another kiss, and the same thing erupted once again.
We sat down to a wonderful meal of catered Nandos, (at Niall's request) however tacky that sounds. Our cake was just as good as the meal, and I made sure Niall got a face full of it. The funniest part was, that Carter took the piece of cake he got and spread it all over his face 'Just like Daddy'.
"May I please have everyone's attention? I have a few things I'd like to say." Niall tapped the classic butter knife on the wineglass and I turned my head to meet his and to my luck, we bumped foreheads. All caught on tape too. Fantastic. "I just wanted to say thank you all for coming to this very special day in both of our lives. Thank you for supporting us, and also for the gifts you have left us, even though we haven't opened them yet. Thanks." Niall smiled sheepishly before putting down the mike and kissing me on the cheek.
"Now, would everyone make room for the bride and groom to have their first dance?" Niall's Mum spoke into the microphone and Niall held out his hand before pulling me out to the middle of the room. 'I Won't Give Up On Us' by Jason Mraz began playing and Niall pulled me close while entertwining our fingers.
It was everything and more I imagined it to be. Slow, romatic, intimiate, the whole nine yards.
The day was perfect, and there was not one thing that I'd change about my life. Ever.
Not Carter, not leaving Niall, nothing. Leaving him and reconnecting with him was the best thing I ever did, even if it did involve a lot of time and effort, I wouldn't change anything. He gave me my son and anything and everything I ever need or will need in our life to come.
Sure there's going to be some tough things that come our way, but Niall and I will get through it. There's no doubt that we couldn't do it. We've been through hell and back already, I don't see how we couldn't.
We just loved each other. It was as simple as that.
