Chapter 37

"What?" I wasn't even sure if I had heard him right.

"Yeah. I did."

"Why in God's name would you? Niall!" I looked at him with an open mouth and he shrugged.

"I didn't do anything I would regret. I'm not an idiot." He shrugged and I just lied my head down on his shoulder.

"I don't even want to think about this. You're leaving for tour in a few days and I don't want these last few days to be complete hell.

"You're right. I'm going to miss you. I don't want to leave when things are finally becoming so right. I love you." I kissed him softly and he returned, a little more agressive.

"Calm down there." I pulled away and smirked. "Our child is in the other room sleeping." Niall pouted at me and I wanted to start laughing.

"But-"

"No buts Niall! That's terrible!" I smacked his chest and he smirked.

"You know you love me." He smirked proudly and I blushed a little bit.

"Only sometimes." I winked and he mocked hurt.

"Alyssa Payne! Naughty girl." He buried his face into my neck and nuzzled his head into it. A laugh escaped my lips, because his hair tickled my neck.

"I forgot how ticklish you were." He smirked and ran his hands up my stomach and becan tickling me again.

"Niall- Ni- Niall!" I yelled inbetween laughs and he laughed at my inability to move. "No- Nothing's fun- funny!" I wa able to push his hands off of me and pin him down on the ground.

"It's kind of hot when you take charge." He breathed against my lips, and I simply put my fingers up to his mouth, and he thought it was my lips. He began kissing until he tried to stick his tongue in and I pinched his tongue.

"Ow! Did you just bite my tongue?"

"You're an idiot. I wasn't even kissing you. That was my fingers." I began laughing again, and I rolled off of Niall.

"That wasn't funny. He shrugged and pulled me back to the living room, where Carter was sleeping.

"I can't believe you're leaving today." A single tear escaped my eye, and Niall pulled me into a hug. "Right when my dream as us as a family comes true, you have to leave." We stayed like that for what seemed like seconds, and I wanted time to stop and our family to be together.

"I'm so sorry." He whispered into my hair and I inhaled his scent. I wanted to be around it forever. "I don't want to leave you and Carter either."

"Daddy, where are you going?" Carter tugged on the bottom of his shirt, and he pulled him up to where we were all hugging.

"Daddy's gotta go sing around the world." He looked at him and Carter looked confused.

"But what about Mommy and I?" He turned his head and Niall had a pained expression on his face.

"You're going to go back home, and when I come back, we'll all be together again, okay?" He patted the top of his head, and Carter relaxed under his touch.

"Okay Daddy." Niall's phone began ringing at that moment, ruining our embrace.

"Okay, we're leaving now." "Yeah, bye Liam." "We gotta go." Niall pulled us up and we got in the car to go to the airport. He was leaving to California first, and going to New York three months later. It was going to be a tough wait, and I hoped that Carter wouldn't forget about his father. We pulled into the airport moments later, and Niall pulled us into his gate. I gave everyone a hug goodbye, and Liam a long thank you hug and a short awkward hug with Zayn. As I came to Niall, tears were pouring down my face, and I couldn't even look at him. I kept my face down towards the ground, and I felt his warm hands lift my face to meet his.

He kneeled down moment's later, fumbling in his pocket for something. I didn't realize what he was doing, until a shiny red velvet box opened, realing the most beautiful diamond ring I've ever seen.

"Lyss. You make me the best me when you're around. You're the mother of my son, you have the key to my heart. I love you so much it hurts to think I won't be around you every second of the day. Will you make me the happiest man on earth and be my wife?" Tears were brimming my eyes and I nodded and pulling him into a hug.

"I love you." I whispered into his ear and he had the biggest smile I'd ever seen on his face.

"You really just did make me the luckiest guy ever." He slid the ring on my finger, and I stood there smiling. Until he unexpectely kissed me with so much pasison, I almost forgot to kiss back. When I pulled back, Carter was there cheering and I smiled.

My life was finally going to be normal for once.

And I was damn happy.
