Chapter 20: The End

At home I went to find Nathalie in my room looking at my stuff. "You know Adrien, I know you leave your mp3 on the piano every afternoon." She says to my surprise. "I always thought you just wanted some rest. I never thought it was to be Chat Noir."

"How long?"

"Some months."

"No, I mean how long before the ritual?" I clarify.

"A few hours. He is prepping now."

"That's...good."

Noticing my somewhat unhappiness she questions me. "What's the matter Adrien? I thought you'd be ecstatic."

"I am but, the truth is I always thought of you in that way since mother died. Despite being my father's assistant you helped beyond normal assistant tasks. Why do you think I helped you when Kagami was trying to interrogate you?" I embrace Nathalie into a tight hug, "I can't let them hurt my mother." She hugged me back just as tight and I could hear her quiet sobs.

After several hours, the waiting was done. Father called me to the basement where for the first time I saw my mother's lifeless body. "As you can see son, your mother has been here all this time in a vegetated state. But not for much longer. The miraculous son." I hold them out but retract my arm when I remember my talk with Marinette. "Son?"

"What are you still hiding from me?" I ask coldly.

"What do you mean? We have told you everything there is to tell."

"Have you? Then let me ask you, why doesn't Marinette remember our chat on the Eiffel tower? As a matter of fact Ladybug that same day hadn't used her ability to purify your akuma when my bodyguard was akumatized. Why is that?"

They visibly squirm at my question. Nathalie more so. "What are you insinuating?"

"That wasn't Marinette. It was an Amuk. You lied to me again and you hurt me even after you-" and it went black.

"I didn't want to do this." Nathalie says holding the unconscious Adrien. "I told you we shouldn't have kept it a secret." Not bothering to refute Gabriel takes the miraculous from Adrien's hands and addresses his bodyguard to carry Adrien.

"He'll be grateful once we're done. Come we have to hurry." Rushing to the biggest clearing they could find in Paris as Hawkmoth and Mayura they start their plan. As expected the civilians began to freak out and run. To solidify the safety of their ritual Mayura created a Senti-monster to ward anyone off. "Give me some cover quick." Doing as instructed she laid Adrien down and produced enough cover for Gabriel to change from the peacock miraculous to the unified power of the cat and ladybug miraculous. "Not a very appealing outfit but at least I won't need it for long. The book." As she was handing the book to him it was suddenly knocked from her hands by none other than carapace's shield.

"Not today Hawkmoth." He said taking the book.

"We can't let you do this." Mighty mouse, Marinette, said saying as the last line of defense with, Viperion, Rena Rouge, Carapace, Pegasus, King Monkey, purple tigress, Pigella, and Polymous. "Stop this now and return the miraculous so we can save Adrien." A tense stare down commenced only for the Senti-monster to attack the group.

In the distance seeing the battle going on Kagami joined the frey, "Hawkmoth!" Knowing what to do Mayura, changing miraculous, Akumatized her into Doragonsuta to create a firewall between them and the heroes. It was war.

"We need that book! How did she do it again?" Remembering what he needs to say he summons his lucky charm. "What am I supposed to do with a fishing rod?!" He yells.

"Give it to me." Doragonsuta says taking the lead. As the battle continued Nathalie stayed close to the still unconscious Adrien to protect him from danger.

"Kagami you can't side with him! You know he can't be trusted!" Mighty mouse tries to reason.

"And you can? After how you broke Adrien's heart he deserves whatever he wants!" She lunges at mighty mouse with her sword only for her to shrink and escape the strike. Seeing the book behind her she gets an idea. Casting the fishing line at mighty mouse as she regrew in size she caught her by the suit and sling her away. Grabbing the book she threw it to Gabriel who hurriedly makes a mixture of ingredients on the ground. Not having anything to mash them together he steps on them and grind his heel before swallowing them and starting the chant. His eyes began to glow and a beam of light erupted from beneath him lifting him into the air. A beam so destructive it hit and broke apart the moon.

"God of the miraculous I beseech you! I hold your power of creation and destruction and demand my wish! Bring back my wife, bring back Emilie Agreste from her comatose state and return her to me!"

The sky grew dark as lightning struck the ground! The ground shook so hard it woke Adrien who could only stand and watch as the battle was going on. Knowing the situation he looks to his father. "Father!!"

"Adrien?" Suddenly all the destructive power escaping from him began to sleep back into him. "What's happening to me?!" He yelled as he bagan to glow himself. Beams of light escaped his eyes and mouth as he screamed in pain before a explosion of white blinded everyone...

When their vision returned the only ones remaining in the spot he was, was Adrien and Doragonsuta.

"Wh-what happened!" He rushed over only to see the miraculous remaining. "No, no, no, NO, NO!!! This was supposed to work! Where is he I can't lose him to!" Sobbing he curled into a ball holding the miraculous. Marinette approached trying to comfort him but he snatched away. "This is your fault!" She was taken back. "You did this! You ruined everything, you always think everything! ALL OF YOU!"

"Adrien calm down we didn't do anything."

"Shut up!"

"Shut up!"

"SHUT UP!"

A beam of light escaped Adrien now as a ball of destruction succumbed him. Everyone stepped back fearing the worst only to see once the light dissipated the form of a fully akumatized Chat Blanc.

"Adrien?" Nino asked nervously.

"You'll pay." He whispered.

"What?"

But he didn't repeat himself, instead he in the blink of an eye created a sphere of destruction so big that when the explosion finished Paris was gone...

"Marinette you gotta stop beating yourself up about this."

"I know Alya but today was my only chance to tell Adrien how I feel." She says upset.

"Gurl you'll get a nother chance. But anyway I'll call you back later. Nino and I have a date. See ya!"

"By Alya." Marinette sulks in her bed with tikki to comfort her until a white portal appears in her room startling her.  And out from it was none other than... Marinette as Bunnyx?

"We made a big mistake."
