Chapter 4: Cataclysm

Climbing up the tower I reach the to where I stay perched alone for no more than five minutes when I heard Ladybug's yoyo. Landing beside me she sits and I do as well. "Glad you came here Chat."

"Glad you invited me..."

"You are probably anxious to know how I know who you are right?" I nod. "Do you remember when we fought Time Tagger?" I nod again. "Bunnyx told me." That was a bland answer.

"Why would she tell you who I was and not me who you are?" She shrugs.

"Maybe it is a paradox kind of thing, she was meant to tell me and in turn, I was meant to tell you I knew."

"So will you tell me who you are now to make it even?" I ask hoping she tells me.

"No." She says frankly.

"What why not!?" I say somewhat upset.

"Because it wasn't meant for me to tell you so I'm not." She says with no emotion in her voice.

"But why? You know mines it's only fair I know yours! Why are you denying me this?!" I say angrily.

"I have no reason to explain to you, Adrien." Adding slightly irritated emphasis to my name. "As far as I am concerned I told you just so you knew and I didn't have to hide it." Her cold emotionless expression is one I have never seen before from her. It scares me but not only that, it makes me sad.

"I just don't- I."

"Goodbye Adrien, see you on the next patrol." With that, she swings away. Why? What was her purpose? What's the point in telling me if that was your purpose!? With no regard for anyone who may have been near I let out a loud angry and saddening scream echoing through the city of Paris.

"I am sorry Adrien, but we need to do this. Thank you, Mayura." Hawkmoth says wiping his face at his son's sadness.

"You are welcome Hawkmoth." Making the Ladybug clone disappear they both detransform and go back into the main house while Adrien cries on the Eiffel tower.

Suddenly a wave of anger rises through him and causes him to do the worst thing imaginable. "CATACLYSM!" Chat Noir yells hitting the Eiffel tower it's self, causing the entire thing to rust away and fall apart piece by piece. To Kate to take back his blunder he jumps away to change back and hurriedly get to Kagami's.

"Adrien what were you thinking?!" Plagg says sounding slightly in shock.

"I wasn't, ok! I'm just, I was mad at Ladybug and I don't know what happened!" I say being truthful.

"Yeah well, you better hope Ladybug uses her lucky charm soon to fix that. Geez, you're going down the same path the Black Knight took and I don't think I could handle another one of those." He says with his arms folded.

"Why do you keep bringing up the Black Knight for?" I ask annoyed.

"Because he was one of the best Black Chat miraculous users ever! He had the best balance of destruction and serenity that I ever saw and have seen since. You, Adrien, have shown you are capable of rivaling his use of the power but you also are showing to be just as vulnerable now as he was."

"What do you mean vulnerable?"

"The Black Knight, while the best, wasn't very in control of his emotions like you are. Or at least were. He ended up consumed by his own emotions and became Akumatized by a previous evil Hawkmoth. Most of the miraculous holders are good but every now and again someone used them for bad and a Hawkmoth at the time saw his sadness and anger overflowing and changed him...." Plagg's usually happy and cocky expression then changes into a saddened one of pained memory and scorn. "He always promised me he would stay in control and never be moved to the evil side....but even he was proven to be unable to stop the mind-changing powers of the butterfly miraculous."
