Avery

I did all the chores and cooking for the day and let me just say that I was exhausted.

I haven't spoken much to any of the boys since they were all busy with gang stuff. Plans and blah blah blah.

I sit myself on the couch and stare out the window.

I start to think back to my family and Willow. Surely they're missing me and searching for me everywhere.

I really missed them, and I don't really know how much of Luke's story I believe. If it were true I'd know something, right ?

I wonder what they're doing right now. I wonder what Willow's been up to and if she's changed her hair color yet. I just miss my best friend.

I sigh and get up.

I walk up the stairs and I'm about to enter Luke's room but stop when I hear a soft hum and the strumming of a guitar.

It sounds really good.

I've missed music since being here. Something I haven't heard much of.

I wanted to savor every last moment of it so I stayed by the door.

It was only when one of the boys came out of their room when I decided to make myself not look suspicious and just enter the room.

The now singing stopped along with the guitar.

I looked up to meet Luke's eyes. His cheeks were slightly pink.

That's weird, THE Luke Hemmings Blushing ?

"Was that you ?" I ask softly

"Was what me ?" He looked away.

"The singing and the guitar ?" I challenge.

"Why does it matter ?" He asked quite annoyed

My face falls. "Because I thought it was really good." I say now slightly annoyed at his change of demeanor.

"Oh," he said finally looking up at me.

"Will you play for me ?" I surprise myself by asking.

"Uh I don't know-" he says unsure, hand scratching the back of his neck.

"Please ?" I ask hopeful. "I haven't heard music in months."

His face softens. "Okay." He says softly.

My face lights up with excitement.

I instantly recognize the song as he softly strums.

"Oh, Florida, please be still tonight
Don't disturb this love of mine
Look how she's so serene
You've gotta help me out
And count the stars to form the lines
And find the words we'll sing in time
I wanna keep her dreaming
It's my one wish
I won't forget this."

His voice softly sings. My eyes sparkle in amazement.

"I'm outdated, overrated
Morning seems so far away
So I'll sing a melody
An hope to God she's listening
Sleeping softly while I sing
And I'll be your memories
Your lullaby for all the times
Hoping that my voice could get it right"

He looks up at me unsure but continues anyway.

"If luck is on my side tonight
My clumsy tongue will make it right
And wrists that touch
It isn't much but it's enough
To form imaginary lines
Forget your scars
We'll forget mine
The hours change so fast
Oh, God, please make this last"
