Indifferent

I didn't hear a word of the first interviews. I barely even noticed when Caesar called my name. This year he was modeling a terra cotta hairstyle with matching eyebrows and suit. It is quite the look.

"Why Clara, you look gorgeous tonight. Tell me how do you feel?" He starts off the interview.

Remember, indifference. You're hot, and you don't give two shits about the world. I've been repeating this in my head for the past 30 minutes. "I feel great. Absolutely fan-fucking-taskic." I reply with a smirk, dead eyes, and sounding incredibly monotone.

"We all know that you didn't get a score in the private training session. Do you know why that might be?" Caesar said. He clearly didn't know how to respond to my language. We aren't allowed to use profanity in the Districts.

"I skipped. I don't feel it necessary to give my opponents more knowledge about me. For all they know I could be a total klutz."

"That certainly is an interesting idea, though I'm sure it is frowned upon."

"Well I don't give two shits if it's frowned upon. I did it, so now deal with it." I say. I see on one of the many monitors that there is a close-up on my face. A little too close for comfort. So, I stare at the camera and stick up my middle finger.

"So as we all know District 10's other tribute, Vance Laugle, sadly passed away. Do you have anything to say about that?"

"Congrats Vance! You died." I look behind me at all the other tributes, "Make sure to say hi to him for me." That really got a reaction out of the crowd. People went crazy. Some clapping, some yelling and hyping me up, while others just sit with their jaws on the floor. There has never been a tribute who wasn't cheery and gracious at the interview. Sure they all had their kinks and attitudes, but no one ever showed how big their ego was. Up till now. I'm acting like a bitch. Is it weird that it's kind of fun?
