Flames

I don't do well with pressure. Once at school, I had a presentation due and I was so scared I passed out. So as you might imagine, being trapped in a forest with a mini-murder and highly flammable trees, while there is a huge fire was not ideal. At all. What has my life come to?

I turn on my heel, so I can go back to the lake. Hopefully, the gamemakers didn't spill gasoline into the water. I wouldn't put it past them. The smoke is getting to my lounges, and I'm starting to feel light-headed. This would be a pretty shitty way to die.

As I'm running for my life, I stumble across the cornucopia. It's been cleared of most of its goodies, but expect for a few scattered knives, a bow and some arrows. Why anyone would ever use a bow and arrows is beyond me. They are the most ineffective weapon. No one will ever win the games with them.

I grab a knife and continue running towards the lake. I'm really out of breath. So out of breath that I don't notice a thick branch on the ground.

Do you know that feeling when you fall, and everything feels like it is slow motion? Then imagine that feeling stretched out over 5 minutes.

After I tripped on the branch, I clumsily tried to get up. My leg was definitely broken and my arm didn't feel right. I continue trying to move forward to the lake, but at a slower pace trying to accommodate my leg and arm. Fuuuuuuuuuck. While I've been hobbling, the raging fire behind me has been using the opportunity to catch up with me.

I finally make it to the lake, the fire snapping at my heels. I stick a finger into the water and put it into my mouth, to make sure it isn't flammable. I don't think it is, but I don't really know what flammable water tastes like.

I take in my surroundings. There is fire everywhere. But then I notice something out of place. Someone in fact. Audrey is here. And she looks scary as hell.
