I ran through the streets in fear of Sanket's life. Parth called saying he was shot as they just left the club after cutting ties with 'shyams' men. I guess they didn't like that.

I care for Sanket like a brother and he's important so like hell am I letting him die while I was dancing with a woman at the club.

I didn't really think anything through I just knew that Sanket needed his boss, his friend. I'm not sure where he was hit but it seemed to be a big deal especially with him as our Consultant, he's important and nobody fucks with family.

I wait in the waiting room with my other men and my sister who came as soon as she found out and now she's asleep on one of the hospital chairs by Jay.

It was 2am and Sanket was in surgery, the bullet hit him in the stomach but that's all I know.

"Boss, didn't you leave with a girl at the club? Where
is she?" Advik asks and I freeze.

Oh shit, I can't believe I just left her....this is bad. What if something happens to her? How could I be so stupid? How can I fuck this up

"Boss?" Advik asks and I snap out of it. "Get some men and make sure a girl by the name of Shehnaaz gill is okay, clear?" I say and he nods with a certain look in his eye as if he knew someone by that name.

"On it boss" he says and gets out his phone while
walking away. I knew I needed to distance myself
from Shehnaaz cause she's not from my world.

She's got the job, the family, the life. She doesn't need me ruining what she has cause I think she's gorgeous and I can't get her off my mind. I'm selfish but I'm not that selfish and I highly doubt she'll forgive me after tonight.

I'm so stupid.

Maybe this was for the best but if something happens to her I'll never forgive myself.

"Family of Sanket?" I heard someone say and I look, with Yash, parth and Vivek. As Jay stayed with a
sleeping  Mahi.

"Yes, I'm his brother" I lie, it's not like I can tell the
doctor who he actually is to me. "Well he's going to be okay. The surgery was successful but you're lucky the bullet just missed his lung. I do suggest he stays here for a week before he goes back home but he has to take it easy" the doctors says and we all let out a sigh of relief.

"Yes, thank you" I say, shaking his hand before he
walks off. Thank god.

Damn I feel like a dick for how I treated Shehnaaz.

"Parth, get some men stationed outside his room and I want to know who shot him and when you find out, you know where I want them. Jay, pick mahi up.and take her home" I order and they all nod, Parth
getting out his phone to get some men here. Jay picks up my sister and the rest of us left. Vivek in the same car as me.

"So, you think he'll pull through?" Vivek asks as we sat in the car, driving to my house. "Sanket is a strong man...he'll be fine" I say and he nods, agreeing.

The silence in the car was interrupted when my phone rang, I see it's Advik and I pick it up.

"She got home safely, I do believe she's quite pissed because I heard a string of curses but she's safe back
at home. Also, with all due respect boss, you're an asshole for leaving her" Advik says warily, making
sure he didn't cross any lines but all I can do is sigh,

"I know, Advik, go home to Harsh. I'll sort everything out and Sanket is going to be fine" I reply and I hear a sigh of relief on the other side.

"Well that's good news. Night boss, see you tomorrow" he says.
