Sidharth

Do I knock? Do I just go in? I feel
so awkward. I'm just standing
outside her door, on a Friday at 7am.
That's creepy.

"You got this Sidharth" I whisper to
myself. I know my men are watching
from the sidelines, Their boss can't
even talk to a woman.

As I went to knock on the door, it
opened revealing shehnaaz in black jeans, a white button up shirt tucked into her jeans l do a full scan of her,
just imagining her legs wrapped
around my waist as we-

“Sidharth?!” I snapped back to
reality to see the fiery shenaaz I missed.

Her hand was on her hip and the
other held her handbag. “Yes,
Sweetheart?” I ask with a smirk and
she rolls her eyes.

“Don't call me that and what are
you doing here? I've got to get to
work and I told advik and harsh
yesterday that I'll talk when I'm
ready” she says, sternly.

“I know but you may never be
ready. Plus, I was going to take you
to work” I tell her, being honest
as I remember my brothers words
from yesterday.

The mafia will always be here
tomorrow but she might not.

"Why would you take me to work
when I can take myself? I have
security following me everywhere
so if you're scared I'll get shot or
kidnapped they'll protect me" she
shrugs, trying to walk past but I stop
her. So maybe I am a little scared
she'll get shot but I'm also trying to
make an effort. It's the little things.

"Look shehnaaz, I'm trying and I truly
am sorry for getting you involved
and losing the trust you had in me
but I do want to make this work.
We'll even go to your favourite
coffee shop" I added and she looks
me up and down before clicking
her tongue.

"Fine, you're paying" she says,
pushing past me after shutting
and locking her door. She walks to
my car and I smirk. We're getting
somewhere.

I run to catch up so I can open the
passenger door and she raises her
brow. "I can open it myself, I'm
not helpless"

“Never said you were. I bet you're
very capable of opening your own
door but what type of man would I
be if I didn't open it for you?” I ask
as she gets in.

"A mafia leader” she shrugs and
shuts the door.

Maybe I deserved that.

I sigh and go around to my side,
giving the security around her
house a small nod before getting in
and driving off.

I could definitely feel shehnaaz anger
coming off of her, you could cut the
tension with a knife but I really don't
know how to fix it or what to say.

"So....you busy at work?" I ask,making conversation.

"I guess" she shrugs. At least it's progress.

"What are your plans for the
weekend?" I ask and I see from the
corner of my eye her staring at me.

"Really?" She asks and I nod.

"I'm making conversation shehnaaz. I'm trying here, I'm not pushing you to Talk but I do still want to get to know you. I'm sorry I didn't tell you but please try and work with me” I sigh, coming to a red light.

“Work with you? I'm so used to a
simple, boring life and when I said I
wanted more action I didn't literally
mean action. It's hard sidharth and you have to understand that, I get you're trying but so am I. I'm
adjusting and coping. You broke my
trust" she huffs.

The light turns green and we come
up to her coffee shop.

"I know shehnaaz. I never wanted this and I know it's hard to understand my life, because you we're born into it. It's all I've ever known so to me it's not confusing or a big deal but I know for you it is” I respond, parking the car.

All my life I've just been trained
and prepared to be the next boss, a
leader. So I don't understand what
the mafia looks like to the public eye.

"I get it sidharth but I don't know
where to go from where" she sighs,
getting out and I do too as I follow
her into the shop. We both order, I
pay and once our orders are ready
we get back into my car and drive
to her business.

"When does ayesha get here?"  I ask, parking outside. “She gets here
at 9 today” shehnaaz replies opening the passenger door, starting to get out.

"It's only 7:30. You're going to be
alone for 1 and a half hours?" I
ask and she nods, grabbing her
purse and drink.

"Thanks for the ride" she smiles
tightly, shutting it with her leg.
I can't leave her here alone.

I roll my eyes, leaving my coffee as I
exit my car, locking it as shehnaaz enters her office. I nod to the guards who got here before us and I enter as she turns on the lights.

“Why did you follow me?” She asks,
unimpressed as she walks into her
office. “Because I don't like the
thought of you being here alone” I
shrug and she placed everything on
her desk then looks at me.

"I'll be fine" she reassures
and I roll my eyes. "I know but
it doesn't change the fact that
I'll worry"

"Well if you worried and cared that
much you wouldn't have brought me
into your illegal, killing....lifestyle"
she huffs, throwing her hands
in the air.

I get it's hard on her part but my
position and lifestyle is important
and I'm very well respected and I
know if any one else heard what shehnaaz is saying, she'd be dead by now.

"We don't just kill"

"Just kill? Great, you torture too" she
says and I go to correct her when I
hear a woman's voice.

“shehnaaz? Darling, it's your mother” her eyes go wide and I smirk slightly as a woman enters her office. She looked middle aged with slightly greying hair put up in a bun and her face touched up with makeup. She wore a dress that came just below her knees and carried a handbag.

“Maa, what are you doing here?”
Shehnaaz asks and her mother raises her brow.

“I don't need permission to visit my daughter. Now who is that?” She asks, looking me up and down. I stifle a chuckle.

“My name is sidharth, Mrs gill. I'm you're daughters-

"Friend. He's a friend and he'll be
leaving shortly" shehnaaz interrupts
walking from behind her desk and
her mother shakes my hand.

“Good to meet you sidharth. Please
call me anita no need for the formalities and mrs gill sounds old" she smiles and I nod.

"Oh, he's a gentleman shehnaaz! Why
didn't you tell me about him? He
looks successful too" anita says. I smirk at shehnaaz who glares at me.

"I didn't feel as though he was
important enough to introduce and
trust me he's far from a gentleman"
Shehnaaz tells her mother who scoffs.

"Well, I believe he should come over
for dinner. How about tonight? Shehnaaz can text you the address” she says turning to me.

"Well, mum as much as he'd love to
come. He's ve-

"I'd love too" I interrupt shehnaaz. "Well that's wonderful. Shehnaaz doesn't really bring men over, it's been a while" anita replies and I laugh, watching Shehnaaz's cheeks goes red.

"Maa!" Shehnaaz scolds and anita tsks. "I do have to get going now. See you tonight say...6 o'clock!" Anita yells, walking out.

"Goodbye Mrs Gill” I yell out
just to hear a "I told you to call me anita" We heard the bell chime and we knew she'd left.

“Why would you agree to going?!”
Shehnaaz yells, pushing me slightly. “Why wouldn't I?” I ask, grabbing her wrist and pulling her closer.

“I'd love to get to know your family.
I'll see you tonight baby” I wink
and let her go before walking out
of the building.

I get into my car, start the engine
and drive off.Well, tonight's going to be Interesting.
