So Close

Soooo I know I told Jack I would go to Nate's but I woke up this morning and I just wasn't feeling it so I'm staying home, besides my fingers were crossed anyways. I was upstairs in my room cleaning and listening to music when I heard the doorbell go off.
"Oh God please don't let it be Jack." I mumbled to myself as I made my way down the stairs.
As I opened the door I felt my heart sink into my stomach...it was Jack he actually came and he didn't look too happy.
"Hey Jack." I said not making eye contact.
"Don't hey Jack me." he said as he walked past me to get inside.
"Oh yeah sure just walk right in." I replied rolling my eyes at his actions.
"Why didn't you come to Nate's?"
"I woke up and I just wasn't feeling it so I stayed home." I said as I shrugged my shoulders.
"So what have you been doing all day?"
"Cleaning."
"Cleaning?"
"Yes. Cleaning."
"Why?"
"I was bored and my room was messy."
"Then you should have come to Nate's if you were bored."
"I didn't feel like getting dressed."
"Obviously." he said with a smirk on his face as he looked me up and down.
"Wha- oh my goodness I'm so sorry!" I said as I covering myself I got so comfortable I forgot I was wearing my underwear and a T-shirt.
"I mean I'm not complaining." he said grinning from ear to ear.
"Well I'm gonna go put some pants on." I said rolling my eyes.
After I put my Adidas sweat pants on I called Jack upstairs.
"What do you want?"
"Nothing I'm gonna finish cleaning my room and I thought it would be rude to leave you downstairs by yourself."
"Oh okay." he said as he plopped down on my bed.
"So why aren't you hanging out with Johnson?"
"Well for one I told you I would come over if you didn't go to Nate's and two he's with this girl he's been talking to."
"Oooo what girl?" I asked suddenly getting excited.
"Her name is Briana."
"And???" I asked getting curious.
"And what?"
"Tell me more about her."
"Well she has brown hair and brown eyes and she's super sweet just like him so it's like they were made for each other I don't really know much more you'll have to ask him."
"I don't want to ask him I want to meet her so I can ask her I need more girls in my life I'm tired of being surrounded by you boys."
"Ouch Ava I thought I meant more to you than that" he replied gripping his chest acting like I had caused him some type of pain.
"Whatever Gilinsky." I said as I tried shoving him only to have him grab my wrist and pull me on top of him.
We were so close our noses were touching and I didn't want to make any sudden movements so I just laid there looking at him.
"I want to kiss you so bad you have no idea." he said as his lips brushed mine.
I didn't say anything I just sat there I was shocked at his confession I couldn't move.
"Can I?"
"Jack I-"
"What you don't want to?"
" No it's just I don't know I can't."
"You don't like me like that do you?" I could see the disappointment on his face and it hurt me.
"It's not that I'm just not sure how I feel about you and I'm not really ready for any type of relationship mentally and emotionally..."
"It's okay I understand." he said as he kissed my forehead and set me down next to him.
After a couple of minutes of awkward silence I broke it when I asked if he was hungry.
"Yeah ."
"What do you want to eat I can fix you something?"
"Ummm let's eat tacos."
"Okay I'll go get those started you can watch tv in the living room if you want."
"Okay yeah thanks."

After the tacos were done I called Jack in the kitchen so he could fix it how he wanted it.
"Are you not gonna eat?"
"No I'm not hungry."
"You sure?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah I ate before you got here." I lied the truth is I'm still struggling with my anorexia I just don't want anyone to know I don't need them worrying about me more than they already do.
"Oh okay." he said as he fixed his plate.

"I've never seen you like this." Jack said out of nowhere while we were sitting on my bedroom floor.
"Like what in sweat pants with no makeup and your natural hair like you look so relaxed."
"Oh yeah I guess it's just because I'm at home and I'm more comfortable that way."
"Well I like it."
"Thank you." I said as I felt the heat rush to my cheeks.
"Well hey I should be getting home."
"Oh right yeah I'll walk you out." I said getting up off of the floor.
"So can I come over tomorrow?" he asked turning to look at me as he shoved his hands in his pockets.
"Yeah sure." I replied looking down at my feet.
"Okay well I'll see you tomorrow then." he said before lifting my chin up causing me to look at him.
"Goodbye Ava." he said as he kissed me on the cheek.
"Goodbye Jack." I said as I watched him open the door to leave."
Once he pulled out if the driveway I ran upstairs and hopped into bed.
I couldn't sleep so I just laid there thinking about Jack and how I felt about his actions today...
