"Sam I don't want to be here." I said trying to turn back.
"I know but you have to get this part over with you can't just keep skipping school you'll never graduate it's just forty five minutes." He said as he pulled me in for a hug.
"I don't want to see any of them being around them is just going to upset me."
"I know but you can do this Ava you have to." He said into my hair before kissing the top of my head and going to his seat.
When I got to my seat the substitute started talking about what we needed to work on for the class period, after he finished talking I could feel Jack starring at me but I couldn't look at him.
"Ava why won't you talk to me did I do something wrong?" He asked after realizing I wasn't going to acknowledge his presence.
"Please just talk to me I can't fix it if I don't know what I did." He pleaded which caused me to look at him and when I did his eyes softened.
" Jack..." I started but contemplated weather I should talk to him or not.
"Ava please."
I sighed before saying. "Jack I lost my best friend because of you someone who was like a brother to me someone who was always there for me even when I thought I didn't need them...."
"Ava I don't understand how that's my-"
"Jack you wanted me to talk so listen; Nate pretty much hates me apparently I'm always up your ass and you make him question my character." I paused for a second and took a deep breath holding onto the tears that threatened to fall for dear life. "He yelled at me and when I say yelled oh god did he yell I was terrified seeing the look on his face it was like he didn't care about me at all I tried defending you boy did I try but it was all blowing up in my face Jack."
"He has never raised his voice at me He is the one person other than Sam that hasn't hurt me emotionally but yesterday he just snapped he says that you took his place, that I never have time for him or Sam because of you."
"Ava I didn't mean for any of this to happen I just like chillin' with you I thought you enjoyed the time we spent together."
"There you go interrupting again..."
"Sorry..." He said taken back by my reaction.
"I did enjoy spending time with you I loved it actually we had so much fun together even when we had nothing to do I thought I was starting to like you Jack I really did; but then Nate just started calling me pathetic because you're the biggest fuckboy in Omaha I didn't know much about you before that stupid project we had and obviously I don't pay much attention to gossip because I had no idea you've played over half the girls in our senior class and I'm not about to be the next I've gone through too much and the school year isn't even half way over." I said as the tears streamed down my face.
"Ava I'm not like that anymore I've. "
"Changed?" I interrupted.
"Yes I have I swear."
"Forgive me if I don't believe you."
"I won't. After all the time we've spent together and all the late night talks we've had and you're not gonna believe that I've changed for you?" He said as he clenched his jaw in frustration.
"I can't believe it you act like you're the first guy that's changed for me Jack."
"Okay then don't believe me Ava I've tried so hard to get you to trust me and believe in me but it's never going to be enough so if you don't believe me that's fine I'll be fine."
"Okay Jack the only thing you were trying to do was get into my pants."
"If that's what you really believe then so be it I'm done we can just go back to not speaking and pretend the other doesn't exsist."
" Fine with me."
"I'm never going to forgive you for this Ava."
"How can you forgive someone that doesn't exist?" I said as the tears came down more frequently.
"Okay Ava."
After twenty more minutes class was over and Jack and went our separate ways I met up with Sam and he went with Johnson.
"I am so done with today Sam."
"Just a few more classes and then we can go to your house and chill." He said as we walked to lunch.
When we got to the cafeteria we sat at the table we usually sit at with Johnson, Gilinsky, Big Mike, and Nate.
"What the hell is she doing here?" Nate said as he gritted his teeth at Sammy and I.
"Dude back off she always sits here." Sam said.
"Bro what the fuck is your problem?" Johnson asked.
"She's my problem I'm not sitting here if she is staying." Nate spat.
"Then I guess you're not sitting here because she's not going anywhere." Sam said as he grabbed my hand to keep me from walking away.
"What the fuck ever." Nate mumbled as he walked away.
"That was so disrespectful." Big Mike added after Nate was gone.
I couldn't say anything all I could do was cry.
"I know it was fuckin' bullshit I can't believe he talked to her like that!" Sam said as his face started turning a darker shade of red and his jaw clenched.
"I just don't understand why he would act like that towards her." Johnson said.
"It's because he's a dick." Sammy replied as he pulled me into his chest as I cried.
"Gilinsky why aren't you saying anything?" Mike asked.
"About what?" Gilinsky asked as he ate his lunch.
"Bro any other time you would have kicked his ass for talking to Ava like that." Johnson said confused as to why Gilinsky was acting this way.
"I still don't understand what you're talking about."
"So you're just gonna pretend that didn't happen." Johnson asked.
"Pretend what didn't happen?"
"Skate just disrespected Ava and you're just gonna let him get away with it?" Mike said getting frustrated.
"He disrespected who?" Gilinsky asked.
Wow this hurts more than I thought it would.
"Ava, Jack he disrespected Ava." Johnson said.
"Who the hell is Ava?" Jack scoffed and rolled his eyes.
This caused me to cry even more.
"you see her crying and you have the audacity to disrespect her even more than Nate just did that's low even for a fuckboy like you Gilinsky; now you listen here you asshole if you continue to disrespect her and I hear about it or I catch you and better hope I don't catch you...I will knock your fucking teeth in." Sam said getting angrier and angrier by the second.
"Yeah man that was pretty fucked up." Johnson added with nothing but disappointment on his face.
"Whatever." Was all Jack could say before he walked away from the table.
"I am so sorry I shouldn't have made you come today if I would have known this was gonna happen I wouldn't have." Sam apologized.
"It's fine." I mumbled.
"No it's not and I swear if I catch them disrespecting you like that again they're going to regret it..."
"Sammy you don't have to do anything I don't want you to get into any trouble."
"Well someone has to." He shrugged.
I knew today was going to be bad but I didn't think it would be this terrible...
