"Ava that is not what I meant." My mom said as I backed away from her.
"Mom it's fine."
"No listen to me...we did for you what we thought was best you were sick what you were doing was not healthy..."
"So now I'm crazy?" I said now sobbing.
"I didn't say you were crazy Ava." She said reaching for my hand.
"You said I was sick...I know what you meant you don't have to sugarcoat it."
"Ava please jus-"
"No just leave me alone." I said cutting her off as I ran up the stairs to my room. Once I got to my room I got undressed put an oversized T-shirt on before I crawled into bed and cried myself to sleep.
*Next Morning*
When I woke up the next morning all I could think about were last night's events...they just kept replaying over and over in my head. After I got out of bed I hopped in the shower to clear my head hoping it would help but it didn't. When I got dressed I just settled for Sammy's red Nebraska crew neck sweat shirt, a pair of skinny jeans, and a pair of red vans. After a couple of minutes I decided on no makeup and a messy bun and no contacts which meant I had to wear my glasses. Once I was ready I grabbed my school bag, keys and made my way downstairs.
"Ava sweetie are you gonna eat breakfast?" My mother asked just as I was about to walk out the front door.
"No."
"Ava you need to eat."
"I'm. Not. Hungry. Mother." I said as I walked out the front door.
***********When I got to school l contemplated weather I should skip or not....I decided not to I didn't feel like getting a lecture when my parents found out. I sat in my car waiting for Sammy and Nate like I've normally done the last few weeks since Amber and I haven't really talked.
"Hey gorgeous." Nate said as he walked up to where I was standing to give me a hug.
"Hey Nate." I said smiling slightly.
"Ava are you okay?" He asked pulling out of the hug to look at me.
This is one of the things I hated about Sammy and Nate they always knew when something was wrong with me I couldn't get away with lying even if I wanted to.
"It's nothing my mom and I got in an argument last night."
"About what?"
"It's complicated..." I said shrugging my shoulders and looking down at my feet.
"Too complicated to tell your best friend?" I could tell he was kind of hurt that I wouldn't open up to him but it's not as easy as it seems.
"Nate I just don't feel comfortable telling you right now..."
"Hey Nate, hey A- you stole my sweat shirt..." Sammy said as he approached us.
"Sorry." I said not breaking eye contact from Nate I could tell he was upset with me.
"Ava what's wrong with you? You look really tired."
"Don't even ask her she won't tell you it's too complicated and she's not comfortable telling us." Nate said before walking away from us.
"What the hell is going on?" Nate never gets mad at you like ever. Sam asked as he leaned against my car.
This is true Nate never gets angry with me I had the kid wrapped around my finger...well up until now.
